Don't really know...I think she might have walked in there...shes quite clever, here specialty is that we have a doorman bell at the back door, and whenever she needs to go to the bathroom, (or play), she puts her paw on the bell!

Ah! The genius of STNC

Sigh. I've kept away from this thread long enough, because I knew it would eventually just consume me. But here goes...

I work for the Humane Society of Missouri and volunteer for the St. Louis Senior Dog Project. Naturally, I have lots of animals; just enough to not get me kicked out of my apartment/city/sanity.

Meet Zelly. She was my first dog, technically. She's an 11 year old Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie mix. She was taken from the City Pound, who found her abandoned and tied to a tree, by Senior Dog Project. She spent some time in an animal hospital for heartworms and general neglect before SDP adopted her out to me. She also has records in HSMO's system of coming in with about 18 Chow Chow's from a hoarding situation 7 years ago, and being adopted out again. She has extreme separation anxiety, and will bark even if I close a door behind me, and will bark for hours if separated from me and I don't reassure her I'm coming back.

Here's Red. He's a 13 year old Lab/Beagle. I adopted him about three minutes after Zelly, so he's my second dog. I adopted two dogs because I figured they would keep each other company, but neither of them really give a flying ___ about each other, so that kind of backfired. Red came to HSMO with 87 other dogs in a hoarding situation, and probably lived in squalor the entirety of his life. He was generally considered un-adoptable by HSMO (which is why SDP picked him up), and took extensive work before he could even come to adoption events. He's a very clingy dog once he opens up, but it took about five months before he actually opened up to me. I can't actually make him not sleep with me in bed every night; I could train it out of him, but I'm not sure I want to.

And this is Doozer. He's a 4 year old Australian Shepherd/St. Bernard. He came to HSMO because his owners couldn't care for him anymore, and I never could get him out of my head every time I saw him. There's a sucker complex that you get working at an animal shelter, and I held mine off for about nine months before I finally caved and adopted. He's the only dog I have that has all of his teeth.

Your dogs take photos well. For some reason every time I pull out the camera or the phone, my dog goes to what I call parade rest. She lays on her stomach and looks around like a parade was passing by.

How cuuuuute! How big do the minis get? My dog loves tackling Dachshunds and their owners always freak out because of the back issues. :?

Don't know if I posted the snow pictures of my pup, but I'll do it again Took her to the snow this year for the first time. So glad I got her that little coat since the belly of the coat was ice cold when we finished running through the snow.

My dad took these of her (before I groomed her)

[edit]

I just took a video today of my pup playing with my cat.
. No sound sorry.

And toy

some of you pet thread followers will remember Sheila my Toy Australian shepherd that was taken by some a**hole after one of my friends let her out past her bed time never to be seen again. After a while we decided to go out and get a new puppy to love, everybody meet Ruby Von Dorian Getty (Roo)

my husband fell asleep like this the first night she was home.
her moving too quick for me to capture

Trying to climb the mountain that is dad.
over 200 dollars on toys and she likes the scion cube I got for free.
and she adores the nos lanyard I have about 50 billion of.
when I lay on the floor she thinks I'm her jungle gym
Riding in style courtesy of daddy.

She is a long haired chocolate and tan Toy Dachshund with the most amazing green eyes born on the 4th of July her mommy was 9 pounds and she was just a little baby runt so she should stay pretty small, she's essentially a hot dog with legs.

indeed lol yesterday she came out to the autox track with us and there was a lady there with a mini boy chocolate and tan she asked me if I'd be interested in breeder her, I looked at her and was like lady she's 8 weeks old... no. Back up off my baby. lol

It is tempting to do it one day maybe, but I'd be worried about her as she's so tiny and such.

I've used the "doggy playdate" pick-up line before. It actually works!
