Aww this has to be one of the BEST martial Arts movies Ever!!

First time on film they used Muy Thai boxing fighting and another type I forgot the name..it simulated a elephants trunk & breaking bones!..it was Cool..

And Tony Jaa did ALL his own stunts.. NO wires or stunt men....

There was a Hilerius cameo from Jackie Chan too!!!!

ALL the fighting scenes were Ridiclously Crazy-Good...

Everyone go rent & see it!!!!!!!...

The sequeal comes out this year I think!....

This movie's been out for quite a while, now. It was released in Thailand over three years ago as "Tom-Yum-Goong".

First time using Muay Thai on film? Come on, now.

Things I learned from this movie;

Don't steal Tony Jaa's elephants

Don't kill Tony Jaa's elephants

Don't assemble the skeleton of Tony Jaa's elephants in a display.

Don't use henchman who feel they need to physically fight Tony Jaa.

Don't use henchman with different fighting styles to try to kill Tony Jaa. Use progressively larger weaponry from further and further away.... At some point you will probably have to use a cruise missle launched from a neighboring country.

Tony Jaa is great he was in DC this summer promoting the movie. He had another few movies before it but Ong-Bak was his break out roll. Definately good stuff, and it's not the Jean Claude Van Dam kick boxing stuff, it's the real deal. I liked the capoiera fight scene my girlfriend hated it.

Yeah I think it just came out. If you are near a hugely chinese populated place like San francisco or New York you probably can find a subtitled version in the local China towns.

yeah, the thailand version. I watched the movie with subtitles...I think I was better off without them. The translation was sooo rough, I think I got dumber trying to read it!

Yeah it's been out for a few weeks now. I dug it. Tony Jaa is easily one of the most athletic people I have ever witness on film or in person.

Ong Bak is better, imo. barely.

the protector was alot more jackie chan-ish stunts(which i don't really like), but most of the fight scenes were better in protector, but...

there's that over-the-head knee to that guys head that just floors that guy in Ong Bak(i think it's the very first fight in that bar/arena). that just says a simple "badass" for me.

The tendon cutting scene in protector was too stupid for me.(and i'm baked outta my gourd laughing when i watch these too)

and even blockbuster has this movie.
