Default Remote Control Car

So as usual its post x-mas and its time to buy what didnt come under the tree. Ive always wanted a 1:10 speed RC car to modify and mess around with. Anyone who has a few , can you reccomend me what type, model, or any 411 that would be usefull in helping me choose one. I will probably use e-bay due to good prices and am trying to spend around 200-400. The more simple and ability to get pieces the better.

I raced both electric and gas throughout 8 years.... Far prefered electric to gas. Just toss the stuff in the back and go have fun. In the long run, I would reccommend off-road truck. Mostly because if you're new to driving an RC, you'll want something forgiving.

Ive used a friends gas powered one years ago. I only remember that it did like 60mph actual speed and that there was some kind of key that made it have an easy electric start button. The last few days ive been looking over the previously mentioned sites and am still clueless. The only thing I noticed thru my searcing is that every site is promoting Team Associate TC3 cars.

I have an HPI Savage w/ lots of hop up goodies....I prefer nitro cause it has a piston, makes noise, messy, and hauls ___.

I am looking into getting a Team Associated 18B (1/18th Electric). Comes with everything you need to go play except for batteries for the included radio. My fiance's dad and brother both have them and are pretty quick. Plus, they are fairly cheap.

I think i want to go with the Team Associate Nitro TC3 kit.

http://www.rcplanet.com/associated_n...49870_prd1.htm

Anyone with knowledge on this model or parts, can you confirm if its a good deal for the price? $335 shipped instead of $599 retail. I only have 2 days to order if I want to get 5% back from my credit card for holiday online shopping incentives.

you do realize that you are ordering the kit and not a ready to run version right? the engine alone will set you back at least $100 then there's the radio, shell, wheels and tires etc... here's a ready to run TC3, for a lot less

I knew it was a kit but was un-sure about how much cost it would be to get it running. I figured it had the $200 in upgrades I would probably want to get eventually and that was a way to save some money.

My dad's got a Traxxas T MAXX pretty much done to the max...everything is aluminum alloy, pretty much no plastics left on the car...different race motor with bigger head, custom dual exhaust, deep dish chromies hahah, and a bunch of other things like upgraded servos and stuff like that...Im not too into it so I dont really know exactly what he's got, but all I know is its like a $1500 T MAXX and those things go for like $400 in the stores...hes crazy but it definitely flys
I always wanted to try and find an xB body shell for it but I was never able to find one...he is rockin an old Chevy Nomad body, and a 04 style Vette body.

check the classifieds. Someone a few pages back had made a fiberglass xB shell while he was bored at work. I know he sold it but you might be able to get him to make you one or start a GB because there was a huge intrest.
As for me im leaning towards a RTR set. The pro kit is better but I dont know ifid be able to assemble it. With RTR I know what the finished product is supposed to end up like.

lol..they're pretty easy to set up. but yeah with the rtr at least you could have the joy of modifying it yourself at your own pace(budget)

I ended up getting the Nitro tc3 team kit. It claims .12 or .15 engine will fit but with a muffler and header swap Im making a .18 fit. Swapped the pull start for roto start. An Acura NSX body to top it off since no xA ones will probably ever get made.....unless someone can fabricate a fiberglass one and ill pay a nice penny for it ;-)
