There are about 3700 total entries. Remove the people that have already won and thats how many can still win.

By the way guys, the marketing company is choosing the names, not me. They don't know any of these people and are making random choices. Occasionally two people that share something common get chosen... but its still random.

Good luck to you all!

There are a lot of people that just lurk on the site. They may have created an account to reply to a topic, etc, but they normally don't login... just read new topics, etc. I would say that at LEAST 50% of the traffic on ScionLife is made up of repeat visitors that do not login, either because they don't have an account or just don't contribute much.

it was me being curious as i haven't seen them in person or anything before... very intriguing.. curious... very curious..

Well, remember that the only requirement to join the contest is that you own a Scion. We get over 25,000 people DAILY to the site. Compare that with the 28,000 people that have actually registered since the beginning of this forum! That means that a LOT of people are using the site without logging in or creating an account.

^^ what he said. im not mad, especially at those that won. but with 50 states, 1/6 of those that are going are from california. hardly seems fair and the total list isnt even out yet. by my count, and i could be wrong, 13 states are not represented and another 7 have only one representative. i know that it doesnt say that every state would be represented, but i could prolly find at least one scion owner in all 50 states that would love to represent their state.

Guess one would have to figure out the population difference between California and every other state and then somehow factor in the number of Scion owners in that area and how it compares with other states.

California is quite populated. It doesn't surprise me one bit that many of the winners are from there. And if it's random, you could have any amount of winners in any state. It's the luck of the draw... how the dice are rolled. The other night at the casino, I rolled an "11" at the craps table 6 times in a row. Seems impossible but hey, it made for some very happy players, lol.

I would not be at all surprised to learn that one out of every six Scions is actually IN California...

Remember, out of all the folks who could have registerd for the contest, less than 3700 actually did, and the random drawing to select winners is only from that group.

If neither of the two Scion owners in state "X" registered, then they are not going to win...

so what ur saying is that the majority of entrants r from california? and that they have the majority of all scions made? i seriously doubt that they have 1 in 6 scions in ca alone than the combined us. it would be beneficial to see the actual sales numbers per state. and granted that if the TWO in "x" did not enter, they cant win, but that hardly seems reasonable either.

I'm almost positive that California is the most populated state. Therefore, the odds of there being more winners in that state are not only good but almost to be expected. If a state as more population, the odds of them buying more of any brand of car, moreso than others, is higher also.

Here are some population numbers for states. California is not only the most populated state but is so by a HUGE margin.

I think its sad that some people who have won don't even care enough to reply to a message from Darren. Then you have the people who check the board religiously to see if they've won only to see that there's a bunch of people who did win that don't even care or only visited the site once or twice and probably won't come back. At least there's still hope...

As just a quick check (and remembering that not everyone puts down what state they are in...) out of the 13403 US Scions in the ScionLife registry, 3266 of them are shown to be in California.

Since I'm sure that some of the cars that don't show a state are also California, having one out of six winners from California does not seem at all odd. I doubt the owner of the one Scion from Wyoming, for example, even registered.

Do I think that maybe one out of six who registered for the contest were actually from California? Yup! Wouldn't surprise me at all. California is a "car culture" state, and a higher percentage of California owners are probably more 'into' their cars than most other areas of the country. Those are the people who registered for the contest, those are the people who will win.

OK, I'm through with this.

Next! :D

the numbers r impressive. i looked them as well and am amazed. now i know why i have such a hard time trying to get anything going here on the east coast. might as well just give up and accept defeat with honor. they could hav saved a ton of money if they would have held it in ca. ill prolly just quit my job as a salesman that i just took to change the way business is done around here. i cant compete with numbers like that when they r so overwhelming.
