Default See how many you get right!

Our teachers would give us this test and tell us we had to get at least 11 right in order to continue on to the next grade. I guess we were still a little gullable, but it didn’t take long to realize it wasn’t true. So the questions are posted below and the answerers will be below them. In order to see the answers you have to highlight over the empty space below.
Be honest, and post how many you get right.

1. A person leaves home and makes a right turn. Then he makes three left-hand turns and arrives home where he is met by two masked men. Who are they?

2. Do they have the 4th of July in England?

3. How many birthdays does the average man have?

4. Why can't a man living in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, be buried in a spot west of the Mississippi River?

5. If you had only one match and entered a room in which there was a kerosene lamp, an oil heater, and a wood burning stove, which would you light first?

6. Some months have 30 days, some have 31. How many months have 28 days?

7. If a doctor gave you three pills and told you to take one every half hour, how long would they last you?

8. A man builds a house with four sides to it; it is rectangular in shape. Each side has a southern exposure. A big bear wanders by--what color is the bear?

9. How far can a dog run into the woods?

10. What four words appear on every denomination of U.S. coins? (no cheating)

11. I have in my hand only two U.S. coins which total 55 cents in value. One is not a nickel, please bear this in mind. What are the two coins?

12. A farmer had 17 sheep. All but 9 died. How many did he have left?

13. Divide 30 by 1/2 and add ten. What is the answer?

14. Two men were playing checkers. Each played five games and each won the same number of games. No draws. How do you figure this?

15. Take two apples from three apples and what do you have?

16. An archaeologist claimed he found some coins of gold that were dated 46 B.C. Do you think he really did?

17. A woman gives a beggar 50 cents. The woman is the beggar's sister, but the beggar is not the woman's brother. How come?

18. How many animals of each species did Moses take aboard the ark with him?

19. Is it legal in California for a man to marry his widow's sister?

20. The thing is neither animal, vegetable, nor mineral. It is totally useless, yet I could not live without it. It belongs to me, and I didn't buy it, borrow it or steal it. I'm always losing it, but it always returns. If I fell off the roof of a tall building onto the pavement, it would not break or even crack. Although I can see and touch it, I can't feel it. It never makes any noise and never does any work. Dogs have it, you have it, as do ostriches. Fish have it, but only in shallow water. What is it?

21. What happens four times in every week, twice in every month, once in a year, and not at all in a day?

22. Now that you have finished, what word is misspelled in this test?

1. Who are they? An Umpire and a catcher.

2. Yes, unless their calendar goes 1 2 3 5.

3. 1, you are only born once

4. It is hard to bury a living man.

5. The match it’s the only one that can create fire on its own

6. How many months have 28 days? 12

7. 1 hour (hard question normally you take one right away)

8. White, a polar bear.

9. Half way because the other half he would be running out.

10. We discovered there are two correct answers for this one. United States of America or In God We Trust.

11. A 50 cent piece and a nickel (it said one is not a nickel.)

12. How many did he have left? 9

13. 70

14. They didn’t play each other.

15. 2 apples

16. No (they didn’t know it was B.C. back then)

17. The beggar is her sister.

18. Moses didn’t have an ark.

19. No, it would be hard to marry your widow’s sister because you would already be dead.

20. It is totally useless, yet I could not Shadow.

21. The letter E. (read the question again)

22. Gullible

18-22 correct GENIUS
12-17 correct NORMAL
8-11 correct SUBNORMAL
7 or less correct IDIOT.

i've seen these before.

3. is also defined as the anniversary of a birth, which i have had 27 birthdays. If you said "birth" day, then ok.
9. is stupid, the answer makes sense, when you look back at it. poor question.
16. coins weren't dated until pretty recently. if an archaeologist dates a coin to 46 b.c., then that makes sense. again, poor question, even though i knew what the answer was supposed to be.
21 has such gramatical errors, that the question isn't valid(but that does take away some of the fun).
every week should be "every week" or written in italiacs, if that's what you're describing, if the questions were given orally, then it works.

12... whew.... aight....

you have a full glass of milk. you pour out half. is it half full or half empty?

you have an empty glass. you pour milk in until the glass is at the same level as the one above. is this glass half full or half empty?

(this will end that stupid debate over half full/half empty!)
