building a car just to show is like panting up a manikin to look hot in the end it looks pretty but its worthless.

^ im going to have to completely disagree with that. Just becuase a car looks good doesnt mean its worthless. bring that attitude into the mini truck scene and see how long it lasts.

even though im not an advocate for automatics.. in show car perspective i would agree with tina...
but at the same time... for all those who down grade an auto.. would you say that to a supra owners face who sports the auto 1j or 2j??? i think they would laugh right back you if you did...

There certainly is a difference between a street slush-box and a racing auto trans, just as there is a difference between a street auto and a street manual.
In many cars the automatic transmission is also paired with a MUCH less aggressive final drive ratio.
If any vehicle is to claim it is a "GO!" car, not just "SHOW", I would expect to see the usual soft street automatic tightened up a LOT, and if not, it is usually not a car set up for "GO!" no matter how much the owner may protest.
Before anyone gets the idea that I'm badmouthing automatics, out of the 29 cars I've owned, six have been automatics. My current vehicle, a 1.5L box, is an automatic. Each time I had an automatic it was for a reason, but except for one (a 426 Hemi with an automatic), that reason was NOT performance...
Now, can we please get back to rice and taters?
Thanks! :D
