Default Unwanted attention from the neighborhood law...

Ok, so normally I have respect for local law enforcement, but this is just rediculous.

1st incident: Friend and I were heading to get a bite to eat, about 12 am. Drove into taco bell parking lot for the drive thru. Officer X is following me into the parking lot, but just parks near by and watches me. A bit uncomfortable, I decide to go across the street to haggen. We eat inside. 40 minutes later we're leaving and him and his backup literally jump out at us as we're getting in the car. accuses me of being drunk since I left the parking lot to go to the other store. He says I was dodging him and two teenagers out on a Friday night must be drinking or drunk (I'm not kidding, his exact words). He proceeds to give me the breathalizer and guess what....I blow a .00. Next, he calls my buddies parents since he's out past curfue. They say that he's supposed to be out with me and suprise suprise he is. He let's us go with a "warning".

2nd incident: Inside haggen again, the next night. Look outside and the same cop is outside of his car, with his flashlight completely casing my car for about 4 minutes straight.

3rd incident. In the same parking lot (lol I like haggen), parking to go inside. He drives over to my car and literally drives in a circle around, parks in the space across and just stares. I walk inside and he leaves.

4th incident: Car was parked at safeway, and this same officer is casing the car again.

5th incident: Taking pictures of my car in the parking lot of frontier village at night. SAME cop drives over to me and says "hey this is the wrong place to be doing that, you need to leave right now. And I better see a front plate on that car next time I see it".

NOT once have I been doing something wrong and I get the criminal treatment. I have been completely respectful each time, no sarcasm or rebel teenager talk lol. My record is clean and I've never even been pulled over in Lake Stevens. I'd have to say I'm not a fan of the lake stevens police department. On the other hand, Snhomish county cops have always been really friendly.

Oh by the way that was a rant lol...

Along those lines I also hate retail stores now. A friend of mine works at target. One time I walked for some double sided tape apparently I "looked very suspicious". Another time I was putting oil in my car in the parking lot after I purchased some and I was "messing with cars". Both times I was dressed for work in slacks and collared shirt. Another friend works at Ace hardware. I came in for a 5 dollar drill bit and they radiod to the front that I was coming up front with an expensive item. Next time I was radiod up front for a damn bolt. WTF is this world coming to?

Must be the shifty eyes, lol.

Did you ask the cop what his problem with you was?

I have found that if you are doing nothing wrong and you confront an officer (in a polite way) things will be resolved.

Just ask him if you did something wrong, if he says no ask him why he is harrassing you. If he doesn't have a good reason I would consider filing a complaint.

There is no reason for a police officer to spend his time with petty crap, I'm sure there is a meth lab he could be busting somewhere.

Cops hate us "kids" I've gotten pulled over for speeding so many times when I know that I wasn't going but 5 over just because my cars stand out, I'm young and the cops have nothing better to do where I live.

Even when I was a kid, if I was doing nothing wrong I would ask the cop what his problem was.

I never had to worry about having anything illegal on me, so there wasn't anything they could do.

Lake Stevens cops have a reputation of being buttholes. I hear the horror stories within my newspaper warehouse about them literally harassing carriers and other innocent people.

The only thing I can think of that would make them be that way is, well, Granite Falls (AKA Meth City). And how do most people leaving Granite falls get home? Through good ol' Lake Stevens, lol.

I agree with Doug... confront him in a nice manor about this. I'm sorry you're under such suspicion everywhere you go.

wow, thats insane. I think you might be able to file like harrasment charges or something..

BTW are you black? Just figured that might explain the obvious, especially in a state like WA...

Maybe the cop knows he's a dealer.

Next time get his name and badge number and tell him you are becoming uncomfortable with the level of attention they are paying to you. I would deffinately document what is happening incase you do file a complaint, because this does sound like harrasement! BTW you didn't get w/ his daughter or anything did you? Just checking...

Gotta love the local bacon...

The centralia cops are almost as bad they will sit and watch us at starbucks and such so i'll walk out and ask if they want coffee on us, or wanna go over to safeway and we will buy them donuts cuz they are just hanging out so why not eat...needless to say they left after that

It's sad that the few criminals who continually do their creepy deeds and get away with them make it hard for all the rest of the population. Law enforcement can't seem to catch those creeps, or if they do the lawyers and dept. of corrections people let them go. So cops just chase after anyone remotely suspicious..... ie: Anyone!! But if you get your car stolen you'll wonder why they can't find who did it, even if you know who it was and tell the cops. (my rant)

But you'd probably better get a plate on the front. It is the law in Washington State and it's got a hefty fine. (daughter found this out on their EVO)

Write a Letter to the Editor of the local paper detailing this WITH the squad car number and badge/name of the cop.

He's wasting time on you he could be out doing REAL police business.

Every organization IMO has the 90%-10% rule. 90% of them are good and do their job, but the 10% of the losers make the others look bad.

Cops with nothing better do suck! I would get his badge number and go see his supervisor. Tell his whats going on and ask HIS boss if you are doing something wrong that you should be told, so as to stop from doing it. If he messes with you again after his boss has a talk with him, it's intentional and it won't look right! He will hate on you but won't do anything since it might look like he did it on pourpose!

Lake Stevens cops... they are SO bored up there. I've always heard issues about them at work, even with the public buses. Sorry to hear they're bugging you. All those situations you listed are so ridiculous!!

One thing you NEVER want to do in Lake Stevens is speed. They LOVE that.

if your car gets stolen or broken into.. i'd blame the cop... he's scoped out your car enough.. and took pics???

the only thing it sounds like he could nail u for is the front plate...and thats pretty petty and like getting nailed for light that goes out between the time you get in your car and a cop pulls you over for it.... (friend had that happen)

It says "Scion Dealer" under his avatar...that's where my "Cop knows he's a dealer" comment came from.

Cops are an odd bunch, got pulled over about a month ago, on a Sun. night, after work, around 11pm, decided to take the back roads home instead of the freeway, cop came out of an area where kids go 4 wheeling and was driving an Exlporer, pulled up on my rear bumper and tailgated me for about two miles thruogh a residental area then the speed limit went up to 40 so as I sped up,so did he, staying on my bumper, thought it was a punk kid screwing with me so I sped up to 45 to get some distance, bam, lights and sirens, he thought he was pulling over a kid, when he saw me he was taken surprized, asked if I had cruise control, scoping out the inside of my car the whole time he talked to me, then recommended getting cruise to avoid a ticket, I told him that I thought I had a punk a$$ kid on my bumper and was trying to get some distance, guess next time I just check my brakes, "didn't you see that deer jump out in front of me?", lol.
