What do you think about DSG?
So what do you think about DSG
for people who don't know what are how DSG tranny works its somewhat difficult. Basicly DSg has been in F1 races for a long time and now is emerging in production cars. the advantage of DSG is that it allows for lighting fast fast upsifts (.008ms!) compared to BMW's SMG and ferrai's simmilar transmition which can make upsifts in only .08ms. This means that you engine spending pulling the car then idle during shifts. DSG has 2 shafts one has R,1,3,5 and the other has 2,4,6. when you shift into 1st (through paddle shifters or though the shifter) the 1st shaft is being used while the other is waiting idle in 2nd for input for the next shift. then you use the paddle shifters or shifter to upshift the power is transfered to the 2nd shaft in .008ms and the 1st shaft is put into 3rd until told to shift. When you stop at a light you goin into neutral. also DSG doubles as a automatic for time you feel lazy or goin through town
Warning: This is a very simple explaination of DSG and may not be exect and do not quote this
