Sounds like a country song-"my wife left me and my dog died"

Not a high point in my life!

I think the last time I cried was when I got a sliver of metal stuck in my eyeball, about 2 years ago. I wasn't crying from the pain so much as my eyes would not stop tearing up. As far as an emotional cry, that would've been when I came home from work to find my cat layin' in the street in a pool of blood. I was pretty bummed out to see that but I didn't cry until I went to remove the body. I picked him up and his eye fell out of his head and I also realised that he was still (barely) alive. He made a little whimpering sound and I couldn't help it, I started ballin' like a little girl.

...awww I made myself sad.

i don't think it's so much making fun of criers, as it is admitting that sometimes it's a little funny. i actually started this wanting it to be a serious conversation. i think it has a lot to do with guys not wanting to admit that sometimes, tears just come because you are hurt over something. i think that's a pretty standard sentiment that every guy has. i can remember my dad yelling at me as a kid "stop crying!" when i was leaking over something stupid.

the worst was when i would get hit for crying. that sucked so hard. sometimes it would work, othertimes it just made me cry harder. it was like a cycle of tears and butt whoopings. that whole "i'll give you something to cry about !" mentality is so dumb to me. old school hispanic parenting at it's finest or worst depending on your point of view.

I still think it's kinda weird how attached we can get to pets. Well, dogs and cats...I can't imagine cryin' over a dead goldfish.

so the pet thing seems to be a major sensitive point i take it? my guess is that it's easy to get attached to something that loves you unconditionally, like a dog or cat.

Last time for me was when I went down to Miami to see my grandmother. She died in the hospital bed in front of me. Of course there were other teary sessions after that, but for the same reason.

But on a less serious note: I REFUSE to cry for a movie. I just cant do it. No matter what my wife tries to convince me otherwise.

When my mom passed on in 02'. Sometimes still just for no reason when I think about her.

During the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers" when they find the concentration camp and the old prisoner fellow kisses that one american soldier on the cheek and hugs him while he (the old man) just has this look of horror and relief and never changes his expression.

I can't cry for a movie. I find it ridiculous, since it's not real people or a real situation. The only movie that'll get me close is anything related to the Holocaust.

The last big cry I had was at my friend's funeral / viewing- I didn't even know him that well, but there was just something so wrong about everything. I was walking up to the casket and my eyes just welled up.

Before that, it was when my really old (20 years) cat was dying. It's one of the saddest things to see something so simple and happy die.
