I can highly recommend:

http://www.meetup.com

as a way to get out and meet new people while doing stuff you're interested in.

I'm a single guy, work with people usually older than me, and most of my old/close friends are in other states. Going out alone sucks, btw, but that's probably not news to you

I've met more people and done more cool stuff in 6 months on meetup than probably the past 5 years.

I haven't attended any Scion meetups yet (just got my xB a month ago), but hoping to meet some cool people from the forums soon.

it;s very hard to consider someone as a true friend these days......

Your scenario seems very similar to mine..I lived in different countries during my childhood... so I haven;t had the chance to make close friends..

Anyway.... you can consider me as a friend I can help you out anytime

So where can you make friends? Doing what?

I'm a very open person so I have no problems speaking up or starting conversations.

you said "So please don't suggest going to scion meets/shows cos i already do. "

when you accept people and people's suggestions when you will meet real friends, trust us.
