This is why I hate truckers
so they blow a tire on the interstate and they are too good to stop and clean up the peices, then the car in front of me hits the rubber chunk and then im the one with all the damage

When you're going that fast and carrying so many wheels on your vehicle it's impossible to keep track of what's going on around your car.
For your sake of knowledge those "blown" tires are you call them are not always as such. Most times a worn tire is retreaded to save money and that tread comes off as they go. Unless it starts to sling cargo they aren't going to notice.
So for you to expect someone driving 12 hours shifts to notice a piece of tread come off their tire, stop the load and go pick it up is really never going to happen.
It's not on the truckers head and that's why people carry INSURANCE for their vehicles. if you happen to see one lose tread and if strikes a vehicle, by all means report them. If you want to about this, give your insurance the information of the car that threw the rubber into your car.
Truckers are not bad either... they just happen to cause you mental distress.
I had a trucker and his wife (both of them were truckers) be cool enough to pick me up in Louisiana after a series of FIVE truckers got on the horn back and forth to each other after seeing me until one could pick me up... the couple then took me 5 hours to where we agreed on a mutual location that mom would drive out and get me in Texas. They let me use their cell phone (this was five years ago) alot and even bought me lunch.
Hate the game, not the player.
You have a problem is TRUCKS... it's not the driver when the company is too cheap to replace every single tire.
If you think how could they miss seeing something fly out of their car?.... lemme tell you, I lost my under things, swimming things, ****, and a bunch of other stuff out the back of a trailer I was carrying on I20W. That kind of stuff flies straight back, up or under.

^^^ very true. plus one of my bestfriends that frequents this site, Trebor, he is a truck driver. he is one of the nicest guys out there so you cant say that you hate the drivers cause yeah they dont know pretty much all of the time, unless its one of the front tires probably. lol and another helpful hint of advise, dont drive so close to the other cars. leave enough space for you to avoid something like that.

Sorry about what happened to your car, but I had to laugh at the title of this thread when I saw who started it.

kinda like a ___ man hating interior decorators?

Sorry to hear about your box. At work (I work for a truck leasing company), whenever we get new trucks in, the new tires come off and recaps go on. They get several recaps for each new tire they swap out. Good for business, bad for you. As stated above, a driver is not going to notice a tire falling apart like that.
I had a tire explode right in front of me the other day (on a truck in the shop, not on the road). I was deaf for five minutes. But when you're behind the wheel on the interstate with the radio on, even that can sometimes go unnoticed.
