I saw this on CNN last night...

If you have not already heard, Walmart has decided to take $470,000 from Debbie Shank, a 52 year old mother of three (One of her sons recently died in Iraq), who was involved in a terrible car accident crippling her short term memory, leaving her in a wheelchair, and in a nursing home.

Because of the fine print of Walmarts health insurance plan, since Debbie was involved in a car accident and was awarded the money to take care of the tragic aftermath, they are entitled to take all the money that was supposed to go to taking care of Debbie.

THEY ACTUALLY WANT $470,000 from this handicapped woman in a wheelchair, who needs it to be taken care of in the future. This coming from a company that made $90 billion last quarter...

I'm asking for you to stop buying from Walmart, and to pass on this story and link to everyone you know. I will be shopping at My local H.E.B. from now on.

I saw this story yesterday too and think it's horrible. I wish I didnt have to shop at wal-mart but two things to keep in mind. Just like when people say not to buy gas on the same day to hurt the oil companies it's not going to work on a broad enough scale. Second thing is we are all pretty much in a recession, I save a lot of money by shopping there for my groceries for the week and that $100 a month I save makes a difference.

If I was in a situation where money didnt matter then I would certainly not shop there. I've seen the DVD on Wal-Mart and believe they are a monster of a company sucking the life out of people and small businesses. The fact that they give this poor lady a break is unbelievable.

See, once Walmart treats one of their employees like a human being, then they have to start treating all their employees like human beings and that is just not in keeping with their corporate values. By which I mean profit. And lip service to Christian compassion. And moral stands against naughty music and movies.

 

Who the F*** needed this story not to shop at that hell hole?

 

Shame shame Wal-mart.

Unfortunately, they have Walmart-exclusive Hotwheels that I MUST buy from them cause I'm not paying the eBayers over-inflated prices for them...sorry!
Other than that, Target gets my hard-earned $$$...

funny lol..there is allways someone who has to cry about walmart geez get over it...if you dont wanna shop there then dont,you think it got were it is because its a dumb company??are we all going to hate a company that makes tons of money?lat time i checked i seen just as many targets as i seen wallmarts..i dont shop at the walmart because its allways packed and its a mess..but if i save 100 bucks so be it ...

 

You should look into their wage caps... I used to work for them... I hated every second of it. There's so much stuff that goes on at a different level there... I know of other people who got screwed by them too... But, yeah. Terrible company.
