Worst driving conditions ever...
Holy S--T, I just drove through the worst driving conditions I have ever encountered in my life ( riding, or driving ).
Well it was more like last night...
And I wasn't in my car...
I was in the company truck coming across I-40 Westbound through Flagstaff, AZ.
I made it safely to Kingman, AZ...but not before passing the most wrecks I have ever seen in a 2 hour period. There were at least 20 different wrecks. Cars on their tops, sides, etc. Tractor trailers split in half, jack-knifed, etc. Snow and severe ice ( and unsafe driving ) to blame.
I just went slow and let anyone that didn't like it just pass me. As you can tell I got where I was going safely, unlike many others.
So the moral to this story is...if the road conditions suck, don't get cocky and fly through it, just because a few people have passed you ( a few that shot past me were later found to be undone ahead ). Take it easy, do what you are comfortable with, and arrive alive!!!
Just a friendly reminder from a fellow SL member who spends more time on the road, nationally than he does at home.

I've got a buddy in Dallas, and he actually takes it personal when someone is driving faster than he is....I don't get it.

yea totally agree on the drive cautiously thru crappy weather. i have video on my phone of me driving in rain so hard it was hard to see going between 25mph-35mph and ppl were buzzing by me and thought they really must be driving blind.

yup im here in the dfw and its crazy my buddy works for texdot and he worked like 15 hours helping clean up wrecks and laying out salt for all the ice....its funny you watch it all on the news of these people all sliding in the same spot on the road. If you see the five cars in front of you all sliding into guardrails or doin 360s wouldnt you be like hmm maybe i should stop? stupidity

lol yeh i love watching those
maybe they think hmm i got 4wd (not really) ill just switch the gears to one and just power through it
a lot of the ppl i talk to about their cars say that when they switch down to gear one it gives them more hp and traction lol

Ice sucks! There is NO safe way to drive on ice. I don't care how good of a driver someone thinks they are, or what kind of vehicle they have. I've been driving for over 25 years (6 years of that was full-time on an ambulance). There is NOWHERE that you have to be that badly. Sometimes you're already out on the road when you encounter the ice so you can't avoid it. But if you know about the ice ahead of time, STAY OFF OF IT!!!
ok...I feel better now.
