Are you f*cking kidding me....!!
I know others have it worst, cali i know does for sure but WTF! $40 to fill up my tank this past saturday night. Gas was at $3.34 that night, yesterday it went up to $3.44. My light just came on and drove about 5 miles when it did and got it filled up, i didnt even let it go down anymore, it probally would of been around $45 if i would of let more but at $40 it clicked. this is stupid to pay this much for gas on our little tanks. I remember in the summer of 05, the first time i filled up the tC was @ $1.87 and only cost me $21. its not even summer yet. what is this contry comming to?
plz dont make this thread into a "how much is gas near you" or "i get xxx amount to the gallon", there's a thread about that already.

damn that sucks! i heard this from an email and it makes sense, but when you're filling up the tank, don't hold the gas pump handle all the way down. it usually has 3 settings, slow, medium and fast. try doing it on slow next time. the idea behind this is that you get less vapors in the tank when its on the slow setting. i tried and it seemed to work for me. also, always fill up at night or early in the morning before it gets hot. gasoline expands in the tanks and causes more vapors again or something like that. guess it doesn't hurt to try it, right?

lol lucky, 4.09 for 91 here in Manhattan Beach. Sorry to hear about how much you're paying man. I go to Costco though and it's like 3.89 for 91. Regular is like 3.69. At least it was yesterday. If we all think gas prices are gonna go down then they will

Oh no.... it's becoming another one of those "how much gas price is over here" threads.
But I think it is about time the Americans and the American auto industry re-learn the lesson that should have been learned over the oil embargo, don't you think? Sure, WE, the small compact car drivers, are feeling the pinch too, but guess who are the ones screaming murder? The guys that bought the H2, and the companies that offers Tahoe, Exploder, and Jeeps while still refusing to take the compact car market seriously (GM, Ford, and Chrysler offers less compact cars combined than Toyota/Scion).
Hopefully this won't become another oil embargo situtation where oil will have to be rationed, but hopefully the price of gas now would put people into prospective. I am tired of seeing Suburbans, Expeditions, Tahoes, and vans running around town with only one person in there.

Here you guys will get a kickout of this. As I mentioned I drive ALOT for work to see my clients. I get on the highway and set the cruise to 70 and just chill...enjoying my milking out 27-28 mpg's. Like clockwork about every 5 minutes I get screamed past by some large SUV, B<V or some gawd forsaken Kia with the bumper hanging off, and you know what. They never usually get more than 500 feet ahead of me becasue they are in such a hurry to get past the next car they don't look 1/4 mile ahead to see congested traffic. This in itself is ironic since bieng in an SUV you sit higher and can see farther ahead.
But alas as the finally get boxed in my some semis I coast on by at 70 mph, enjoying my 28 mpg.
I want to get a sign that says......
"HAHA WOW you FLEW BY ME.....but guess what??? I am there first still and I didn't spend my whole paycheck in gas to get there!
Here's your sign Mr or Mrs drivin your subdivision on 24's.
LMAO.
Carry on.....

All I will say is I am glad I get 30-33 mpg. The price of gas is really a pain and it will get worse with the summer blends comming. They are more expensive to make and there are more of them to make. It doesn't help that the U.S.A has not built a new refinery for the last 30 years.
