My only complaint is that the 1st and 3rd pictures aren't level.

thanks,
Yes I should rotate them but meh. Im not one to spend that much time editing. I didn't hear any complaints from him, if he asks, ill edit them for him.

in the first pic, the hall way itself is just crooked hahaha, I lined the shot up with the right side vertical wall.

and in the 3rd pic I wasnt paying attention to the steps behind him :/ shouldve worked around it.

gotcha, in regards to the fill flash I like to have high dynamics in the photo, even if it means crushing the blacks and whites. I try not to crush them completely but I like have the extremes on both ends. fill flash may reveal more detail in dark areas, but might flatten the photo a bit more wouldnt it? but than youve been in the game for a long time so I'll take your input seriously.

blown out whites are horrid...and i hope you're not shooting at noon...

early morning or late afternoon FTW

the subject is supposed to catch your eye, not your blown out background...so a super white background won't work unless you're doing high key photos

Thanks for the input, just means I need more practice. Gotta keep shooting and aspiring for better results.

when normal people like my pics it doesnt really help me, it's when the pro's tell me your pics suck is when i'll get better at it

meh im a digital arts major, Ive taken photography, digital photography, design, rendering, graphic design, advanced art, illustration and have done professional work. DSLR im relatively new to. Composition, design imaging, Ive been studying and working with it on and off for the last 10 years or so.

In regards to photography outside of this thread, I get constant input from people I know in the professional field. But when I get someone that tells me something is wrong Im all ears and listen carefully because I may learn more than what I do now. Most of the time, I break the rules of photography on purpose, because I have a very thuroughly ingrained knowledge of composition completely and to its highest form from years of training (This is why Im so picky about not cropping a photo, and compositing the image correctly from the camera). So I get bored and start either breaking the rules of composition to think outside the box or from boredom, variety or flat out laziness.

I work with what I have. And my belief is, If im gonna have to deal with a bad element in a photo or set up, I might as well take it all the way and do it on purpose and make it part of the photo. The last class I took was a digital photo class, mainly for learning more photoshop, but just recently I decided to bite the bullet and pick up a decent dslr.

In hindsight, I regret getting the 50d instead of waiting for the 5d, but I was kinda forced into the 50d because the new 5d wasnt out yet (full frame much more appealing for image quality, i work on a pixel to pixel level) and I had to use it for an event that was coming up and I was pegged as the multimedia go to guy.

I was sitting behind a computer working with digital images for years, but I find being out on the field much more appealing than sitting in front of a computer screen hahahaa

the only thing is that to get the good stuff it costs a lot of $$$ which is something I dont have.

still learning the ins and outs of the 50d and its limitations. Not very impressed that the 50d gets noisey images above 640 iso. >

but yea I have friends in the pro field that work movies as compositors and pro photographers that always give me input. So my ears are always open to learn something new.

I really would like to avoid explaining myself however, its easier to just post pics and look at pics haha.

Here are four pics from my trip down to orlando this weekend...

Now, I am "breaking the rules" though, not using a dslr. These are shot with the Canon SX10IS. Sorry if this "offends" anyone, but I figure I would share some nice pictures I have
