Default My 1st xA Mod-JIC Magic FLT-A2

I am very excited to have broken the seal and decided on the the first mod for my 06 xA. I bought the car during the Hurricane Katrina evac in Houston a year ago with the intention of customizing but due to Katrina hassle have not been able to do a darn thing to it until now.

I decided to work on suspension first, and decided to go JIC all the way for suspension. I bought the FLT-A2 coilover from Andy's Autosports (nice guys, btw).* I like the dampening customization and easy drop tuning. I plan on getting the JIC carbon fiber strut brace next, then sway bars, etc.

I am going to do the install myself, and if any New Orleans area Scion fans want to help in trade for Cane's chicken fingers or something that would be much appreciated. I'd like to meet some of ya'll and partake of your knowledge and experience.

Let me know if any of you have any experience with JIC products or coilovers in general. I'd like to know your opinion. Do you think it's wise to work on suspension first, or should I go a different route.

Also, does anyone know of any tuning shops, customizers, in the New Orleans area. I have seen an ad for one in Harahan but the name slips my mind. Would appreciate any info, experiences, etc.

Troy

* They were nice when they took my order, but here we are 2 weeks later on 10/16 and no goods. No email has been returned, and every phone call they say they are "going to get back to me." Not proceeding as I'd hoped.

If you don't mind me asking what did you pay for them and what made you choose JIC?

Default Why I chose JIC

I actually had been looking into tanabe, and even had placed an order for them. But after sleeping on it, I decided that although the Tanabe Sustec OC Pros are solid, they didn't have much in the way of adjustabilty. I had paid 800 for the Tanabes, but cancelled the order before it was shipped.

I paid 1400 w/shipping for the JIC. What I liked about the JIC was three-fold: 1) They're Japanese. As I started this project I decided to go all Japanese in parts 2) 15 adjustable dampening "clicks" from firm to soft. This was super important for me because I am not sure what to expect as I adjust the suspension, so I won't be stuck with one or the other. 3) Adjustable drop heights. Very important because I have yet to choose wheels or install the Kenstyle body kit I'm getting, so I don't know what kind of clearance I am going to have.

All in all it was the quality and adjustability that eased the pain of parting with so much dough. Plus I had a good week of work so I deserved a treat.

The place I ordered from shall remain nameless* until I actually have the product in my hands. I am having some customer service issues with them right now and although I will be giving them the benefit of the doubt for now, if they tick me off any further I will be a consumer force to be reckoned with.

* It's Andy's AutoSports. Having issues w/them. More to follow.

I know every customer experience is different, but I am having a real hard time with these guys, especially for such a big-ticket item. One guy told me the coilovers were in stock when I ordered, and now 2 weeks later, after they have my money, I am having trouble getting a straight answer. I think what it boils down to is that the item is NOT in stock, is on backorder, and they really want my money, so they are dragging their feet. If they really were smart, they would be straight with me from the get go.

Sorry to rant, I'm frustrated with this order.

damn, that sucks... it happens with the best companies out there... just wish they would understand that they could actually tell us the truth about why shipments are delayed instead of giving us the run around... i rather know that my order is on back order instead of transfering my call to 30 other people that dont know what actually is going on... hope you get em soon...

I have chosen not to business with Andy's Autosport again. They have also stated that they will not serve me as a customer again. I will be seeking my coilovers elsewhere.

Default BBB record for Andy's AutoSport

http://www.bbbsilicon.org/commonreport.html?bid=207652

This is a link to their BBB record. Should have checked it first...

Here's the final email:

Troy, I chose to refund your card and cancel the order. We forthwith elect
not to serve you as a customer. Do not attempt to purchase anything from us
in the future, considering that you acknowledge our company policies under
apparent false pretenses and then make legal threats. We have zero interest
in ever sending products to you.

Very professional. I probably would have startd out something like, "Hey you m*thaf**kas...

And is sucks for them that they treated you like that sepecially over $1400+. Thats just bad business. I've gotten better business over a burnt out light bulb, no questions were asked, just sent a new PAIR...

hopefully you can find them, and at a better price.

Man that's really how I felt. I had no interest in doing anything legal with them, I just wanted to get the ball rolling. They could easily have earned my money if they just would have COMMUNICATED. Stupid, silly people don't know how to run a business.

I just ordered my second choice, the Tanabe sustec pro-oc. I have to forgo the adjustable dampening with those but they are $600 cheaper. I can put that 600 to use elsewhere, I guess. They still rock.
