That might be a problem for most people not wanting to leave their cars unatended and unlocked so judges can see inside of our cars, and us not being around for the safety of our own vehicles and belongings.

ROFLMAO! I don't even leave my xB unlocked inside my locked garage and the inside is 100% stock.

They think people with thousands of $$$ invested in upgrades will trust total strangers to crawl around the inside of their vehicles for three hours without them there?

This has got to be one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard of.

ok so they upped the show entrance fee to $40 but they actually specify that it includes 1 guest.

Isn't that what they do at HIN? I know a lot of people left, but were the cars open for judging?

To be fair, I've been to other car and motorcycle shows where the cars are left open for judging. But those were higher end shows and organizations running them.

Let's be honest, after9 events still does not have the reputation to allow most people to trust them with this responsibility. Maybe one day they will, but not yet.

The after9 events that I have attended in the past (without my xB) have not felt like professionally run events and until they are run professionally most people are not going to trust their staff to have access to their vehicles unattended.

A better idea would be to close the area to spectators and just have the owners of the vehicles stay in the judging area.

at HIN last year, the judging happened before the general public was allowed to enter. i never left my car unattended. either me or one of my boys kept an eye on our cars for 15 hours. damn, that was one long, hot day...

At an indoor HIN show you park the night before and they do some pre-judging the night before, but last year at the outdoor show that was not the case.

well HIN last year they let us roll in that morning and some people had to leave their cars over night, parking at HIN was really unorganized though.

I think the best thing to do for both parts would be to have it closed off for spectators but open for owners and their guest. At HIN we were still able to hang out inside and detail our vehicles if necessary and or stay out of the heat.

I can't imagine HIN would ask you to leave your cars unlocked and not be responsible for them. If any damage occurs and everyone is supposed to be gone except for judges, they would be solely responsible for your car and any damage that would occur. Do you really think they would make you leave your car unlocked for three hours and say sorry we are not responsible for any loss or damage that occurs during that time frame? I have never been so I don't know...

HIN never asked us to do that. and they know they couldnt all cars are locked the night before

As for After9 and what they plan on doing I dont know, but Im sure no one at the show would agree to that. Since they make you sign your life away at car shows to where they are not responsible for your car.

same thing at HID san diego last year. people had to drop their cars off the night before and that was an outdoor event. but it was also a day event.

I still plan on going, but when the judging is going on my xB will be locked. No need to see the inside anyway as it's all stock.
