3rd Annual Imports VS Domestics Car Show
#41
Anyone know where to pick up flyers for this? It's cheaper to buy the tickets/pit passes at the door with flyers then it is online due to convenience/etc fees, and i'm paying for a few people to get in

I've been turning a couple wrenches on the tC to see if I can get it running well enough to race for the Import vs Domestic show. I'm a little over 50% sure I'll be there. I will thank a few very loyal SL members for convincing me to go!
Needless to say, here's the scoop on the Dezod tC...
Low boost: We've been developing a new special EMS specifically for the tC and with all the paramaters we're adjusting, and between switching ECUs back and forth, I need a lower boost to work with so I don't damage the motor. Also with the hot 100+ degree weather and some pretty bad gas I haven't really set the right tune for the tC yet for this weather, but the tune has definately improved. I have the ignition taken care of but my AFRs keep richening up after 5k so I'm working on that right now. Current boost is about 5psi, but with my AVC upping it slightly, I get flat boost response at 5.5psi. I set it for 7 but it starts to creek once I approach 5k rpms and keeps going from there. There's only so much a boost controller can do to a low boost spring!
Transmission Issues: Not much on the car has been touched for a while because we've been working on our race engine/tranny. That being said I've been neglecting the 3rd gear synchro issue that's causing some VERY inconsistant shifts. I noticed on these boards as well that people are having tranny issues when they approach 30k so I'm assuming it's the same thing. I've only missed 2nd gear before, but never 3rd, so I know it wasn't a grinding issue. I can still race fine but I need to be easy on 3rd so my shifts may seem slow!
Other than that, on a more positive note, I was able to take the subs out of the car. So I probably shed a good 100lbs off it making my 5.5psi-7psi runs a little better than the norm. I set my Ingalls ETD from 14mm to 12mm today and there was a slight difference. Not sure how much time I'll have before the track, so I may not touch it, but I still need to work on the tune and switching out the tires.
I HOPE (TRULY 100% HOPE!!) that I can see a lot of you guys there. I've only been to one meet so far but it'd be great to see the same faces and new faces at the same time.
I'll keep you guys updated once I'm 100% sure I can race the car. Definately give it a couple more months though before we start throwing down some serious numbers.

Joe, you should look into taking your car up to Dyno-comp in Scottsdale. When I was having problems with my tune, Richard fixed it fast. I think we even called you the day I was there. He knows his stuff, they are with out a doubt the best tuner shop in AZ. He wrote me a summer tune and I;m going back in Oct/Nov to write a winter tune.
It doesnt suprise me that your having issues with your car here in this state. Especially after everything I went through in the begining. Maybe I'll run into you this weekend.
