I was saying that the only way a lower powered amp can blow a sub was by turning up the gain to where the amp clips.

People tend to take this to mean an underpowered amp WILL blow a speaker. I am trying to make sure people know that using an underpowered amp with the correct settings will do no harm.

As far as AC vs DC:

EDITED: I get it now. I had to take a trip to the12volt.com and found an explanation for it. I was thinking that the wave still rolls so it is AC, but the fact that the clipping causes a straight line, that means it is DC in those instances, and then goes back to AC. I got it now.

I am still searching to see why the one source I have said DC goes to the speaker since I found a more reliable site that says it is AC and looking at oscilloscopes makes sense that AC is the right thing.
