Were is a good place in north phoenix/phoenix to get a alignment done? I called a place that was in the "were to have work done thread" but they were not open anymore. Any suggestions?

Network Alignment at 67th Ave. and Bethany Home. Talk to Lonnie. He is the man and will get you on your way. I believe your alignment should only be like 39.99 or so. The boxes need a 4-wheel thrust alignment, which is costly over most, so you might even be cheaper. They did my alignment when I had bags on the box, lowered the box, lowered a few other cars. I am telling you that you won't be disappointed.

Ooops, forgot to add....

If you happen to live closer to Cave Creek and Cactus, there is also another Network Alignment over there, just north of Cactus on Cave Creek.

I couldn't find the number to that one, but if you call the one on 67th, they could give it to ya.

I took my tC to Caliente motorsports in Scottsdale, they have the latest alignment machine with the best technology so they can input all necessary information about the car like if its lowered and so forth. I had them do my car and they were very friendly and definetely knew what they were doing.

Network alignment is a good place also from what i heard but only thing with that place is I would think you don't know who you're getting working on your car, kinda like if you take your car to a Jiffy Lube for an oil change......Joe schmoe could be doing your aligment.

Randy,

I like your location. When are you going to be un-pinned?

A four wheel thrust alignment is where they align the front wheels to that of the rear wheels. It is done on all vehicles with a 'solid' rear axle.

What's a "thrust alignment"? It's where they do the front end adjustments based on the actual measured thrust angle of the rear wheels. What's a "thrust angle"? The "thrust angle" is the angle that the rear axle in a traditional rear wheel drive car is set to relative to the centerline of the car. For whatever reason, sometimes the rear axle is not perfectly in line with the body of the car and it is actually pointed a degree or so to one side or the other. That misalignment is called the "thrust angle" - aka, the line that the rear axle actually puts thrust (power) to the pavement on. If you can't get all four wheels in perfect alignment, the next best thing is to at least have all four wheels pointed in the same direction, even if the front and rear wheels are not in the same exact "line". As long as the back end is pretty close to square, aligning the front wheels to the actual angle of the back wheels results in a much improved alignment - the front and back tires don't fight with each other all the time and they will go in the same direction. In extreme cases, it results in a car that goes down the road at a strange angle where the wheels are visibly out of line with each other. The diagram below illustrates this in an extremely way.

In other words, seems how the xB has a rear axle instead of independent suspension, a 4-wheel thrust is required. From my understanding, seems how the tC has independent suspension, a normal 4-wheel alignment is warranted.

The difference in the two you ask??

Thrust alignment - fronts are adjusted to that of the rear
normal alignment - fronts and rears are adjusted independently, but symmetrically I would assume.

Hope that answers your question(s).

Dan just wanted to talk in depth about the angle of his thrust.

I only trust campus alignment in Scottsdale. Always flawless service, all wheels are dead on perfect. No "well dood, got it close for ya" crap like network always did to me. Sorry guys I hate them, to many bad experiences by lazy techs. Had to take my nissan back 4 times in the same day, my tacoma twice in the same day! This was at the network on Main and the one on gilbert "the one on gilbert was a total waste of time, total tards".

Anyways give campus a try. But always set an appointment a week in advance. They are SWAMPED. Had them do my track cars for years.

I have a question. If I am getting a strut bar, should I wait on the allignment until the bar is installed?
