I have 92,500 miles on my xB. My piston rings are done and I have a lot of blow through. And possible down a cylinder. So I cant afford to trade it in, and who knows how much it will cost to fix. So for $325 I am getting an 05 xB motor with 26,000 miles. And with a couple of fellow SA members I will have a new, well kinda new engine swapped out. Poor engine just went down hill so fast.

 

what was the reason for the motor to have such a short life expectancy? did you beat on it alot have N02 hooked up, or any Mods....Sweet that your swapping but seems strange to have gone through a motor so quick?

 

Well good for you! Those motors are pretty cheap.

 

I dont know the exact reason for the motor to go bad so quick. I have done all my oil changes and havent really beat on it. Just last week started having some problems and thought it was just the plugs which I replaced in july. but on the way to get them replace my motor spit the rest of the oil out of the car and then really messed up.. Only mods I have on the engine are short ram and header. I did buy it used with 43,000+ miles. But I never had any problems until this week. My first week at my new job as a courier. Just my luck.
