Default My Project at work

Ok....I thought I would share with you guys a little of my project at work.... Been working on this since January of this year. From designing it in a CAD program called Solidworks which is a 3d modeling software.......to seeing it come alive...... These were a few pics that I had on my camera but I will get some more of the inside of the stand so you all can see......

Here are a few pics of the stand after I had modeled it.........

Ok now here is what is looks like after coming to life......

Will get more pics of the detail in side for you to see......

He might give you the full geeky what it does..
But its a test bench for testing different engine parts for Turbine engines.

This is what he designs for (this is not the exact engine that his stand will be used for) but this what type of turbine engines Mooneyez and I work on every day (several of the many different types) Alot I don't have pix of yet..
this is at Boeing TSCP700-4B.

GTCP 131-9B

Pratt and Whitney 901A (worth about 800K or so)

This Test stand is a Pneumatic Test Stand which will test only the pneumatic components off the C-17 APU. So really there are about 6 components that will be tested on this stand. When I have a little more time I will name the parts for you and I will also show you some pictures of the Oil Test Stand that I design and that has already been delivered to the Air Force.......sorry to cut it short but gotta get back to Calibrating my test stand.....

Nice detail Chris.

The C-17 was just a design when I was in the Air Force. APUs (Alternate Power Units) were around though!

Keep up the great work!

I'm trying to learn how to use AutoCAD right now so I can make a model of the kit car I just started planning out. This program is impossible to figure out and of course, it doesn't have a tutorial like Flash or Photoshop .

Well if we wanted about 60KVh of voltage running thru there and a and alot of air out of the surge valve ya. These engines are APU's not Thrust engines..
basically its a turbine generator used for remote operations for the aircraft (when the main thrust engines are not running) They suppy power and pnuematic load.
