...

I'm gonna copy and paste a lil bit from what I just added to the thread in the Rockies....

If you haven't ever heard of it, Roswell is the place for new VW Beetles to come. Check out this link- http://www.roswell2k.org/

These crazy people come and have a great time. It's really cool to see all these funny looking cars with lights and aliens all over them. So, check that out and examine it. It's very well put together...

But, do you think we're gonna let the Beetles outdo...SCION??!!??! Heck no!

Oh, and Friday night(22nd) will be available for Test-n-Tune at the Drags, or if interested, can make it an all Scion night. Saturday(23rd) is an NHRA Summit Race. There are plenty of things to do, and come on, if Beetles can have fun here, why can't Scions have twice that fun?

Also, just fielded a question about golf. If anyone plays golf or would like to try, we can have a friendly golf outing only a good 3-wood distance away from the show. Let me know if you'd like to participate in a friendly afternoon of golf in cool, brisk September weather. We'd probably play on Friday afternoon/evening, saturday morning(if you don't go on the cruise), or Sunday morning. If we get enough interest, we could set up a fun scramble event.

Always keepin it real,
Steve

Is the drag racing going to be an evening event or is it during the day? It would be
cool to see at night.

I was able to book at Hamton inn with no issues. They have small kitchen suites available. Mention you have AAA and get 10% off. Was like $85 a night.

Good to hear! Remember to mention Scion when you call to a hotel and they will get you the discounted rate. AAA and AARP will also help you get a discount I believe.

The Sally Port offers a shuttle, so you can park your cars at the dealership under security and get a ride to and from. We don't have much in the way of taxi's because it isn't practical. We have plenty of rooms in town though. Some of them may not be real quality, but they work(we put all the nicer ones on the lodging page). I'll also talk to the hotels about special secured parking. BTW, the Hampton is the newest and the Sally Port is the nicest. The Sally Port has a pool, golf shop, restaraunt/bar, and some pretty nice rooms. If the hotels run out of room, let me know and I'll see what other discounts we can get. There are a few hotels we didn't list because they weren't wanting to give a discounted rate, but they might want to now. If there's anything else I can do, just let me know. I love making sure everyone is going to get here and get a good place to stay.

Oh, and the UFO Festival every summer books every single room we have in town, and people are forced to stay in Ruidoso or in houses where people rent out rooms. If you have to stay in Ruidoso, the trip is 40 minutes to Roswell and you can catch up with the Billy the Kid Cruise coming into town on Saturday morning. I'm hoping no one has to do this, but if it does happen, it means we're gonna have a killer turnout.

Seriously though, if you need anything or just want to know something, just ask me. You can post here, PM, or e-mail me at sstorey@scioninvasion.com.

Hey guys! Have some good new for ya. I arranged with the Hampton inn a reserved parking section in the rear of the building. We will have our own roped off parking area for those that wish to drive to and from the show. "I could not stand the idea of business men in rental cars trashing our rides!" I am waiting on a call to get an exact number of parking spaces available. If you choose the hampton inn for your hotel needs, simple tell them you are apart of the scion car show and that you request the special parking setup by Garage1217. Also please pm me with confirmation that you have requested the special parking and I will mark you down on my list as well. Please let me know if you have any questions!

That can be myself and my 7mm mag looking out the window.. that work..?? Haha. If enough people show at the hamton or I can confirm enough I will take a small collection up and hire a security guard.

Ok guys. I have confirmed 6 parking spaces up front and 26 in the rear that can be roped off for us. Also Hampton has 66 rooms available for those dates as of right now so nail them quick!

Hampton is brand new also. Its in good shape. We might be able to send a security guard over there so you don't have to pay for one. Glad you got that set up. You did it before I could even call. You are on the ball today.
