An Internet video of Lamborghini claiming 219 mph on an Arizona highway has sparked an investigation by the state Department of Public Safety.
The five-minute video depicts several runs in which the driver attempts to beat his previous top speed, with the final run resulting in a speed of 219 mph on what appears to be a Phoenix area freeway.
The video repeatedly zooms in to shoot the speedometer and then back out to the road.
The video appeared on the Web site youtube.com but has since been removed by the original poster. Somebody else reposted it, however.
DPS will not elaborate only than to confirm it has begun a criminal investigation.
And I think he is going to be screwed if DPS gets him.

Good. This is not something that is cool, it is extremely dangerous, and stupid, and I would gladly tell the driver that to his face. Do you all realize what happens to another car and its occupants when it collides with an object at 219mph? I'm glad to be the first here to say that I hope this MF dies in a blaze of his own dumbass "glory" one night, when he skids out of control and hits a wall, or DPS arrests his dumb ___ and throws him in jail, either way my family is safer without this driver on the road. I'm pretty sure the first one is more likely, because this is probably not a first occurance, and there's races for cars that go that fast, and guess what? He's not in em'.

Wow you guys are harsh! No just kidding, it wasn't exactly smart, but it was for the sole purpose of setting a new world record for a LP640. And just so you all know, and can sleep easier, the driver (no I won't release his name), was arrested the other night for the event. Someone narced him out! Posted bond and is out, but will be fighting a VERY long court battle. By the way, there may have been some running from 2 DPS Chargers and a Helicopter, which might have launched the investigation in the first place lol. I'm not at liberty to give details, but basically case closed. And FYI, for all the skeptics out there, I don't post often, but if you follow the trail back, you will probably know how I would know such information....

I completely agree with lockin him up so he learns a lesson that this is not safe and should not be done on any public road, period. Someone said this wasn't the Autobahn, but even if it was....it doesn't mean it's smart!!! Take a look and see how many people die in accidents on the Autobahn!
Back on point though, short of massmurders and serial rapist....I don't wish anyone would die. What kind of example are you showing the youth of tomorrow if you say you wish he dies??? I just wish people would think before they go off typing half-cocked!!! Did you even read your post before you threw it up there or do you really have such a lack or respect for life that you trully wish this guy would die because he drove a little fast on a road you were nowhere near???
Anyway, I hardly ever post on here anymore and comments like ^^^ is why!
Flame me or whatever, I don't care!
