***ALL DAY photoshoot meet "PIC-nic" July 22nd***
UPDATE
Continental Toyota/Scion has agreed to sponsor this event by providing us food from 6-8. Because 8pm is around the BEST time to shoot photos we will need to be 100% on top of our game to make it downtown and take photos at a VERY fast pace.
I am VERY grateful that they are willing to provide this dinner for us. We will still be putting together a PIC-nic during the day at some place where we will be able to barbeque or possibly a dine in. I would like to do this from 11-12/1. I have updated the times of day for the types of photos we will be shooting.
Ok guys, I was talking with Jose about putting together a photo day like no other day we have ever had. It would start in the early hours of the morning and last until the wee hours of the night... I am hoping to get an extra photographer to come up from Central Illinois to help, but my goal is to take 2500 photos total that YOU CHOOSE! We have done the night shots, we have done the motion shots, now I would like to do more individual shots this time...
like:
I will be up for interior shots, exterior, detailed, engine bay, system... whatever you would like I will shoot it. This meet I will have my laptop with me so that I can continue to pull the photos off the cards and possible edit some when we stop to eat.
Now I will need everyones help with the plans for this, I am aware of a few places that serve well for photos but I would like this to be all group input. The day will need to be broken down as follows due to the sun...
11am-1pm PIC-nic to start the day
1pm-3pm interiors in shady area
3pm-5pm still photo ops anywhere you guys choose to cruise to
5pm-6pm cruise photos on the way to Continental
6pm-745pm Dinner at Continental
745pm-810pm DRIVE DOWNTOWN
810pm-? downtown for excellent lights on Michigan Ave and where ever lease we find. At this shoot I will set up my tripod in the street and take some pics as you guys drive by, so this will be another individual
Also, as payback for Blue_estel for the work done for us, I would like to mount my suctioncup tripod to interior roof (sunroof or regular tripod in xbs) of some of the SE interiors to get some high res photos of the gauge work completed. these photos would be great photos for you to use in a collage for possible car show signs. Please check out Se-chicago if you are interested in anything like this.
In fact, I may be able to put some of these together with Jose for a good price if you guys are interested. There are people that put these together but Jose and myself have a greed t owork on these. You can also see some of Jose's on www.fujiz.com.
Keep in mind the best places to take these photos are either Interior or Exterior... meaning:
Exterior:
closed:
Open are shots with alot of room to work with. this open space leaves the photos a bit more interesting.
Closed are shots inside of buildings, underpasses, parking garages.
I know this is alot of info for you guy to digest but I'm going to leave it in your hands. Any suggestions please post them here for all of us to review and agree on.
Event date: July 22nd 2006. This is not the first weekend of the month so Ray can attend, and hopefully this is enough in advance for you to be able to get of work Alex. for everyone else, please get the word out and try to get this day off work. Remember the bigger the crowd the better. Because of the amount of work that I am looking to do and the amount of editing that will need to go into this I am going to ask those of you that attend for a small fee of $10. (non SE:C members $15) I have never asked for money from you guys before but I have also had the same equip for 8 months now and I have put alot of time into editing and uploading the photos so this $10 (or $15) will go towards a new lens for future shoots.
please offer up your suggestions for anything from the food to the locations.
Thank you for your participation in advance,

i thought about that and played with the idea of 10 per member, 20 per non member, or free for a non member that signs up within 1 month of the photoshoot, but i didnt want to make it complicated. I also didnt want it to look like this was a ploy to make money, so i left it at a simple 10... but i did say you guys decide. so?

I'm on my sidekick so I can't type much but it looks like there is a lot or interest... I will read up more later but we can go ahead and start a roll call and yes/.. Keep your eyes open for great areas to shoot. This is open to all members se or not. the price is 10 for anyone that gets on the roll call now. We will figure out the non member price in a week or so so lock yourself in at the 10 now.

depending on the # of persons interested, it would be prudent/efficient of us to maybe break up into two groups -- meeting at separate shot locations. that way there won't be ~30-40 scions just parked waiting to be immortalized. of course, there will still be a whole group/crew shot.
of course, this is if we can get another skilled photographer -- what about eric/raven?
