Hello all!, i have been reading on this site for awhile, and i am serioulsy considering getting and BOX. the only reserve i have is that i hear their engines are crappy. i would appreciate any imput that could waver my descion either way.

 

The engine isn't crappy, it just has low horsepower. It's reliable and get's good gas milage, it's just slow...about 11 sec 0-60 on an automatic and 10 sec on a manual. BTW, this would bemore helpful to you if it were in general xB, more people look there.

 

the engine does have low hp, but the box only weighs 2400 pounds. like iyzmi said it is VERY reliable and you cant beat the gas mileage. with a few cheap mods u can add a little gitty up to it and most of all its BEAUTIFUL.

do it, another box on the street is a great thing.

 

I have a 2004 xB. You will not find a better engine for the $. It's only a 1.5L so not it is not a Vette.

It will get you there. Have you seen the traffic anywhere lately? How fast do you want to go between construction and stop lights?
