Toyota Owners of Chicago is planning a road trip down to tail of the dragon. We will be driving down from Chicago to TN/NC. Anyone is welcome to convoy down with us or meet up with us at the hotel down there.

Nice! I'm from that area, and have driven that route a thousand times. I really hope you guys know what you're getting into. It's a fun drive, but it can be dangerous with all the a-hole bikers on the road.

I would also recommend you check your brakes before going. Very mountainous and brake fade will start early and quickly. Just look up some of the youtube videos:

Anyways, I see you're planning it for late May. This date set in stone?

 

Yah we have looked into everything deeply. We will be prepping the cars before the trip for anything that would come up at all. We dont plan to do some serious driving on the dragon due to the increased police force there over the past year. We plan to let loose in NC. So far there are three people that are freeing up their schedules to make this happen, and i think two more guys trying their best to make it out. The date can change but if it does, it would be sometime in august then because we have to make reservations and people have to ask off from work, that would give enough time for everyone to make the proper arrangements.

 

Interesting. Might be a trip worth taking
