Default Wisconsin Powdercoating?

Anyone know of a good powdercoater NORTH of milwaukee. I went to one north of the falls on 175 but they are not there anymore and went to another in jackson, but they had no idea of what they where doing.

I just don't want to have to drive all the way down to milwakee for just one part.

The place I go is HY-TEC Powder Coating in Waukesha, they do awesome work and they are also the cheapest around.
The owners name is Mike, the # is 262-549-4855.

Here are some pics of what I've had done....

19" Wheels were $200 Gloss Black

Engine Cover & Strut Bar $100 Candy Red

and those prices included all prep work....

Hey Dwestxb - Was that $200 each wheel? And how do they do it. Im guessing they have to take the tire off...do the whole powdercoating process and then put the tire back on? Sorry, I dont know a whole lot about the process.

$200 for all 4, I went to a tire shop and had them remove the tires ($15 all 4), then once I got the wheels back from powder coating (about a week), I had them remounted and balanced ($65 all 4)

powder coating as a process is more complicating than painting. Most likely they will take the wheels and dip them in some sort of really bad ____ liquid, maybe a lite acid or toluene. This will clean them of the road grime and finger prints. They may have them sand blasted also, which is not a bad idea to get a better surface, but this can really kil aluminum if they arent good at it. From there they hang spray the powder coat (plastic micro beads) on the part, the stuff sticks becuase they keep the part charged. Then they bake it. And bam, a surface that is much better than paint if done right.

Wow...im really impressed by the cost. Yet, im always warry of cheap prices. Im a believer of the saying "you get what you pay for." If they truely do a great job for cheap then props to them.

The quality looks just as good as any powder coating I've seen.... It's also just a small company, I think it's just the owner and one other guy.

but If you feel better paying more, than more power to ya....
