Not unless you ben liveing here in texas for a while. When I moved back from Missouri I keep my old plates for almost a year. Even got pulled over once after being here 3 months and the cop didn't even say a thing about my inspired inspection. Told him I just moved down and will be switching my registration as soon as I settle in.

honestly, i've been driving in tx for almost 8 years without a license plate in the front and never got any hassle for it

of course i've got tickets for speeding and whatnot but nothing on the plate
although some people i know got tickets for it

I got a ticket in my 300zx for not having a front plate in Allen, TX. Showed the judge a pic of the front plate on it and bam the ticket was dismissed. Truth is I just took a pic of someone elses 300zx.

Ive had my tC since May and it has the screws in the front where I could put a plate, but I haven't put it there yet. I put the plate under the cloth cover in the trunk right on top of the spare.

I drive from here thru Austin at least once a month and have yet to be pulled over for anything.
