Default HPD done lost its mind!

The Houston Police Department has changed its chase policy, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

The new policy prevents officers from chasing people for minor traffic violations.
"A supervisor will terminate a pursuit unless the suspect has committed or is committing a class B misdemeanor or a higher violation, or a suspect is a known felon," the new policy stated."

Would fleeing the police be considered a misdemeanor?

This only covers class C misdeameanors, such as traffic infractions or warrants issued by the City of Houston. Kind of makes it a pain in the butt for officers and the policy has some gray areas to it.
