googled "Hydrographics":
Hydrographics is a unique solution for your most demanding decorative needs.
Hydrographics (also referred to as Immersion or Water Transcription) is the process of applying decorative film to rigid and semi-rigid products including, but not limited to, plastic and metal substrates without leaving wrinkles, air bubbles, or blemishes.

Awesome looking stuff! How much does the processing cost?

Looks pretty cool for abstracts, carbon fiber, woodgrain, camo looks. The process doesnt seem to have much precise control since the parts dipped through the liquified graphic. I like it for the effect.

Are you limited by any design constraints? Or can you do anything?
