It's been proven time and time again that speed doesn't kill.

Speed VARIANCE kills.

If we had an Autobahn with enforced 90mph minimums, there'd be fewer accidents than a single interstate system with varying speed limits and varying driving styles.

I agree that 'the track' is the only correct venue to race...but how many of us have been cruising on the interstate at around 80mph and ran up on a granny in the fast lane doing 55?

Um. We do have variance control. 15mph under the limit CAN get you a ticket (maybe you'll get one, or maybe not). 5 over will get you a ticket. So technically, if everyone drove according to the law all the time, we wouldnt have this problem. Including slower drivers in the wrong lanes.
Of course no one does, except me. I drive like an old man on the highway. 60 in the right hand lane.

Jeebus. I always heard more. In that case, more old people should have more tickets. But yes indeed. Speed variance kills.

It's to the point that I don't even like telling people that I have a car that's souped up, because of the street racer stigma that goes with it. I really hate to put it like that, but it's how I feel.
I feel the same way. I can't drive anywhere without someone wanting to race. Earlier this week I had 2 young kids in a Impala SS wanting to race me. I was getting ready to turn and was behind a car, going around 40, they passed me, flipped me off, and turned there hazards on like they had won some race...

Stupid people annoy me.

Yeah exactly, checksum. I've been nearly run off the road before (into a ditch almost, into oncoming traffic almost, etc) by kids who got ____ed off because I waved them off when they wanted to race. I just can't handle that B.S. anymore and I'm trying to distance myself from it.
I might actually be Scion-less in as little as two weeks. I'm doing alot of thinking about what I want to do about another car if/when this girl buys mine. Part of me wants a '91 Porsche 944 Cabriolet I found.. Part of me wants a Yaris.. I just don't know where my heart lies anymore. It sucks.

I have been to the brink and Im lucky I survived to tell about it. I am also lucky that nobody was hurt in my accident. I can see though how the Audi TT and 350z can be mistaken for the other to a normal pedestrian. However, both of these cars would stomp a tC into the ground am I right. Are they looking for the wrong car?

I agree. It'll be reliable, comfortable, and leave me plenty of cash left over to have a second car to soup up if I want one. I'm actually going back to Vandergriff Toyota here when I get off of work in about 15 minutes to talk to the guy I bought my tC from. That way I can have concrete numbers for at least one avenue if/when my tC sells.

Yeah the tC had no business racing those cars, not unless it had all the standard bolt-ons and was running like a 75-100 shot of NOS... Chances are they'll never figure out who the other car was, not with details that sketchy. Oh well. Danger breeds destruction.. Its gonna happen eventually. Its just a matter of how far you try to push your luck.

Hey guys...I'm just now getting back to this forum!! (Hi guys!)

I don't get very many people egging me on to race either (I guess it's because I'm in the "reserves" lol and don't drive around much). I get asked all time if I race my car and/or how fast it is. I guess it's that "SFX" sticker I've got....it adds horse power, you know.
