my brother is at 36,8xx miles and his clutch went bad. toyota of waldorf wants 1200 for installl and parts to get a new clutch. anyone know anything local or semi local that will be cheaper? never needed a new clutch before so i dont know what they normally run that seems like a lot.

probably not too helpful, but the actual clutch is cheap. the install is what kills.

I just put one in my girlfriend's car last weekend, and LET ME TELL YOU, on a fwd car, that labor is worth every penny.

I do know a guy that was selling a 500 gift cert for an act clutch for 200 bucks, so pm me if you need me to look into that.

most clutch jobs call for at least 8 to 10 hours of labor. With more dealerships labor rates running around 100 bucks an hour these days, 1200 bucks doesnt seem too unreasonable.

1200 isn't unreasonable for a new clutch
like the others said, your paying for labor really, not the parts
parts are cheap, its about 9-11hrs labor times avg. of 94.90 per hour
you'll be ranging from 1000-1200 from most local toyota dealerships

call bobby ward @ 355 Toyota, 301 340 0900
tell him you are a friend of dave scott, see what he can do for your bro
