2nd Annual Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Car Show9/14/08
Hello again everyone!
Mark your calender for our second car and truck show on September 14th, 2008. Time is from 10am to 4pm. For all of you that attended last year's show, thank you, and you can expect twice as much fun, twice the trophies (especially for Scion), twice the number of vehicles (last year was 100), and a smoother execution of awards. I am looking into getting a Toyota/Scion Dealership and other sponsors & vendors to join the show. Below are the details and I will be posting more info through the coming weeks.
2nd Annual Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department Car and Truck show open to all makes, models, and years (from antique muscle cars to new exotic imports). OVER 80 trophies to be awarded for several classes including some 5 (yes, five) foot trophies! First 200 registered receive free dash plates. There are free goody bags, give-aways, 50/50 raffles, contests, Kids Area (children get to use the fire hose with experienced firefighters), voting, food, drinks, indoor seating, vendors, and much more. Register each show vehicle for $20 that day or check out our website for pre-registration at $16. FREE FOR PUBLIC SPECTATORS. The registered show vehicles will fill the 200+ parking lot so pre-register and come early! All proceeds benefit the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department. Bring the family and friends for a fun-filled time! For any questions or proposals please contact Mike at arbutuscarshow@gmail.com.
Thanks again for your interest! =p

Awesome guys! I hope to see you all there!
I'm sure I will be meeting up with some of ya at other shows during the year. It is early notice because I was trying to get an early April/May show but the fire dept has too many other events, hall rentals, and training classes that would conflict. This weather is crazy, but I'll plan for a 2009 Spring show after this year's success! =p

Update on Sponsors & Vendors:
After 2 weeks of visiting, emailing, and speaking with reps. @ Russel Toyota on Rt 40 in Baltimore, they told me that they are not able to participate in the car show at this time... Well, I gave them a chance since last year they wanted more notice. So if anyone works at or knows people at any other Scion/Toyota dealerships, please get back to me. Though there will be several different makes and models, I am trying to gear the show more towards Scion.
If anyone knows any vendors/shops that are interested, please let me know as I am working on space in the hall. Thank you all again for your support! :D

Oh yeah, since this show will be rain or shine, the bingo hall that seats approx 400 people will be used to house the trophy display, award presentation, sponsor & vendor booths, food & drinks, and seating for all. Most of the activities & contests can be held inside or outside, but may be held outside if the weather is nice like last year.

Ok, new update on trophies. Instead of 1 trophy for each Scion model, I have added more trophies for mild & wild classes:
BEST Scion tC Mild
BEST Scion tC Wild
BEST Scion xB Mild
BEST Scion xB Wild
BEST Scion xA/xD Mild
BEST Scion xA/xD Wild

Thanks Moises! You're the 1st to register and yes, the first 200 registered vehicles get dash plates, goody bags, door prize tickets, and more. I am working on including shirts, but I am still raising funds from supporters to account for all the costs. So there are approx 89 trophies to be awarded and there are still 199 dash plates left at this moment [February 14th @ 0101 hrs.].
At this rate, if 200 vehicles register, everyone gets tons of free stuff (dash plates, flyers, etc), prizes, contests, and 1 out of almost every 2 entrants gets a trophy! That is pretty good odds.

Sorry its so far away, but you know what they say; "All good things come to those who wait..."
Only 5 months to go and I got T-shirts for the first few to register. Right now its looking like the first 15-20, plus some for raffles, plus shirts will be for sale.
There are currently half a dozen sponsors and we are still accepting more to help benefit this fund-raiser for the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department.

I'm pretty sure I'll be there. though sept is very far away. I gotta come and take best toyota for the 2nd year.... and, not to show an ego or anything... but I'm a lot happier with my ride for this season than i was last year.
