Vettereddie, I never though of that. I will have to clarify and expand on that trophy to not cause any confusion and chaos.

The trophy is for Chevrolet Novas.

Nothing against any clubs, of course. Next year, I plan on holding Scion-only shows in addition to auto shows of all kinds of vehicles. I might break down trophies by clubs in that situation (say best scion of XYZ club).

In the meantime, I apologize for crushing any dreams to any members of the NOVA chapter. However, 16 trophies specifically for Scion is all that we can afford this year.

I just got a message from the Scion District Sales Manager who (after months of networking and trying to get support from Scion Corporate) said he would 'pass' on the event. Now I am in a pickle with 16% of trophies all going toward one brand. [I will receive plenty of complaints of discrimination without the proof of Scion supporting the event] No worries, I am a man of my word and I will not be changing trophy classes or titles. I just wanted to inform the Scion community that you may not be getting any Scion swag from the show.


However, I have acquired 15 other sponsors (most are local businesses which have much smaller budgets) and I have plenty of things to give away and provide to all that attend.


Of course if you feel that you want Scion at this event, as I do, you can send a petition or get in touch with your contacts, as I am, and see if its not too late to get some Scion Corporate support at this show.

Note: Weather forecast states weather may be cloudy with some light showers. Hopefully everything remains dry, but we have procedures all planned out should there be any wet weather:
1. All vendors, sponsors, food (except for the pit beef), seating, registration, trophies, and award presentation will be held inside our large, 400 person hall at the fire department. We also have additional seating under the outdoor pavilion. This has all been planned and will occur regardless of weather. If it is sunny and hot, then the hall provides shade and A/C.
2. There will be some tents available outside for vehicles/owners that would like the shade. More details on that to come. I believe we have at least a dozen or so tents.
3. I know many will venture out regardless of weather though I also know some that would not risk their investment and passion to the elements. I respect that. I also encourage all to come out to this awesome event that nobody will want to miss... so I am praying for the best weather so more people can enjoy the show.

Other than the listed people on Scion forums, we have about 20 pre-registered vehicles and we have had several clubs and individuals verbally commit to the show adding another 100 vehicles...


Weather affecting turnout of vehicles:
Non-rain expected = turnout of 200+ vehicles
Semi-Rainy day expected = 100-150 vehicles.

Half of the weather websites say a cloudy morning while others call for a few small showers... No thunderstorms expected, no hurricanes expected. Remember, the fire department still comes out (actually more so) in times of bad weather, and this show goes to a good cause.

Also, regardless of weather, we still have the same number of trophies, prizes, sponsors, vendors, and activities regardless of the weather...

Hey everybody,

I am available all day on Wednesday and Saturday as I am off from work those days. I will be devoting these last few days to this show.

All Weather TENTS:
As many are concerned with the weather. I have been coordinating efforts with the President of the AVFD and with Jimi from Mystic Piercing & Tribal Tattoo. Right now we are looking at having about 10-12 tents (approx 10'X10') from the station that can be rented for shade/shelter at $5.00 each for the whole day. That money also goes toward the Arbutus Volunteer Fire Department.

Mystic Piercing (MPTT) is providing additional "EZUPs" (10'X10' tents) to the station to be used by show vehicles. We are estimating about 15 tents from them. So these will be available for show contestants. These may be worth looking at as all of the vehicles will be held in the fire department's outdoor parking lot.
Also Scion Lover & MPTT are going to be distributing Scion swag for the show!


To optimize the parking space for show vehicles, no trailers or spectator vehicles will be parking in the parking lot. Instead, I have all ready acquired a FREE shuttle service which will be shuttling people to and from the extremely large and very close train station parking lot.

Once again, the fire department hall provides A/C, shade, almost all of the sponsors, vendors, trophy display, trophy presentation, registration, food, indoor seating, beverages, t-shirt sales, and much more. The DJ will set up according to the weather.

I have been planning this event since January and everything is set up to make this event go smoothly so that everyone can have as much fun as possible! Let me know if any of you have any other questions. Thank you all for your time, consideration, and support!

Nice turn-out for the show, though it got a little crowded there after 11 AM. Maybe next year you could see about using the Town Hall lot across the street to extend show parking. Not sure what happened with all the delays with judging, I've never said this before about a show but maybe there are too many trophies.

 

I need some damn competition for Toyo/Lexus next year!

I can't believe the turn out you had. it was insane.
