You shouldn't have any problems passing inspection, if that's what you're asking.

Can a cop pull you over? Yes (due to Rolling Probable Cause, or RPC, which is basically legal profiling). Can you get a ticket? Maybe.

As long as you don't use it while your driving. Like drop it up and down while driving down the road. I think is how the legality thing works. If it passes Va inspection then I don't see the problem.

I'll be getting an inspection in about 2 months, between the air ride and the train horn not sure if I stand a chance lol.

http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Safety.shtm

The above link shows the actual Virginia Safety Inspection Procedure that inspection stations are supposed to follow.

INSPECT STEERING & SUSPENSION FOR: (Jack up front end as shown in Manual)

* Wear in bushings, kingpins, ball joints, wheel bearings, tie rod ends.
* Looseness of gear box on frame, condition of drag link and steering arm.
* Play in steering wheel.
* Wheel alignment and axle alignment.
* Broken spring leaves, and worn shackles.
* Shock absorbers.
* Broken frame.
* Broken or missing engine mounts.
* Lift blocks.
Doesn't say anything about failing due to having an air suspension.

INSPECT HORN FOR:

* Electrical connections, mounting and horn button.
* Emits sound audible for a minimum of 200 feet.

I have a train horn too, but the switch for that horn is totally separate from the steering wheel (which still activates the stock horns). I know that a police officer can give you a ticket if the horn is louder than 115dB. Doubt the inspection station will fail you though.

I kind of agree with making sure people drive safe cars. Too bad the state doesn't seem to care much about safe drivers. They give anyone a license.

I think the state inspections are just something cooked up by lobbists to make money for shops, (not from the actual inspection). I would guess that 75% of people would just pay 50-100 bucks for the shop to fix a "headlight allignment" or some other bogus thing they like to fail people for simply to get it over with. I've actually seen where they didnt even ask the person and fixed something and then just charged them without asking to fix it.
