Default Emissions testing help in VA

Does anybody know of a station that is, shall we say, less stringent on the testing?

I've got a vehicle that will pass the sniffer, but fail the visual inspection inside the hood. Replacing the components is not a realistic option, because I bought the vehicle this way, and the prev owner does not have them.

It's at the inspector's discretion as to whether he passes the vehicle for lack of equipment (so long as it passes the sniffer). I'm just looking for someone that will either willingly turn a blind eye, or grudgingly do with a sufficient application of Ulysses S. Grant's

Anyone?

i havent seen a shop in virginia that DOES emissions
it is not a requirement here that i know of
if you are wanting the name of a shop that will turn a blind eye and are asking on this site they might not do it too much longer
i got my shops and inspectors i go to but would never want to post who or where they are
burning bridges
im sure that people on here are cool but you never know who is looking at this
just tryin to look out for your people April

1) you don't see them because emissions are only required in Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William, and Stafford, so you would't see them advertised. If you live in those counties, which I do, you have no choice if you want your vehicle registered.

2) I'm not asking them to break any laws. I clearly stated that the inspector has the discretion of passing or failing the vehicle for lack of emissions equipment underthe hood, so long as the vehicle passes the sniffer test. I'm not asking them to break any laws, I'm asking for people that are more lenient within the laws, that's a big difference.

3) I appreciate your wanting to look out for April, and I agree, I'd rather people PM me with stuff, but you making it out to sound like this is some big conspiracy is kind of A-holish.

whoa there toasty

1) didnt know bout the counties (thanks for the info)
2) you DID say "turn a blind eye" and thats all i said. if you are giving the street names of the shop, they are bound to catch some flack
3) not trying to be a-holish, and not saying they broke or brake any laws ive just seen what troopers will do if they get the slightest notion someone is being "lenient", just saying dont give them a reason to

p.s. just tryin to help
