Default got pulled over for tint

hey guys,

like what the topic states, i got pulled over for tint at braddock road. first the cops were walking around my car and i guess were just looking for something to ticket me with. then he checked my tint. his machine gave it a 27% which i am aware is illegal for the fronts.(i have 30% all around except for the windshield of course) now i dont know if i should go get it fixed then go to court to show them i got it fixed or if i should just prepay the ticket and not go to court. has this ever happened to any of you? please post on how you took care of this kind of situation and the results of your experience.

damn cop even tried to argue with me about my muffler. i just told him i got it from the dealership and that it it not an aftermarket muffler. well even though it is an aftermarket muffler, i know that it is legal for it has a high flow cat. plus, its not even loud and it looks stock too.

i hate **** VA cops!!!

whats up man?

I've gotten a total of 3 tint tickets in the past 2 years. Ive just paid the fine. I recently got pulled over for it in Manassas, who 9 times out of 10 could care less about tint.

anyhow, thats what i did in my case. now that the c/f hatch is installed, im planning this week or weekend to remove the tint on the four smaller windows and leaving the tint on the rear windshield to keep the all black look from hood to trunk. im gonna see how that looks and then decide. honestly tho, its one less reason for a cop to pull me over, in my opinion.. no tint = nothing to hide.

now i just gotta mount my front tags on the bumper and theres nothing they can give me a ticket for on the car.

^^^well, it took a 1 3/4 years before a popo pulled me over for my tints. last summer from what i remember, i used to open my sunroof cover so the sun can shine in giving my tints a not so dark roof plus rolling the window down helped. i guess i forgot that this time. shoot, dont really wanna pay the ticket but i dont wanna get pulled over again. too much bullcrap and hassle. i might just go with getting it fixed and going to court.

50% in the front, 35% in the back

In Cali, you have to prove you removed the tint AND pay the ticket.
$114 and no tint on my doors.
30% too. What a joke.

Default Last Year, on my way to Fatty's for a tattoo

20 % all around.

85$ reduced to being inconvenienced to just show up and show the cop I removed it. No fine.

just get it done. if they stop you, they stop you. just dont drive like an **** or do something to make yourself stand out and more than likely you'll be okay.

print out a tint waiver from the dmv website and get your doctor to sign it. it just has to say you get migraines or something of that nature, then your front window tint will be legal.

yeah, tint laws suck. i've got enough illegal crap on the car (no airbag, no cat converter, non-amber sidemarkers, exhaust decibels just to name a few), so my tint is 100% legal (28f/18r)

It was my first offense. That probably helped. I here the NOVA cops are more ****.

Just make sure you don't pay a buttload for the tint job, then you won't be out as much should you decide to take it off. Oh, one more thing. You CAN be ticketed even if you show the next cop the summons for the first one. Just because you have a ticket that doesn't mean they won't hit you up again even 5 minutes later. PITA

I got pulled in Fairfax county two years ago for tint. I just paid the fine and kept my tint. I think it was 85 or 87 bucks.

In maryland tint is a secondary offence. They have to pull you over for a primary offence first. One of which is not having a front plate, or speeding or having a light out.

At least in VA you can have tint on the front, we have to keep the front no-tint.

im serious about the tint waiver, theyre legit i peeped the one for virginia. heres the link to print it out.

http://www.dmv.state.va.us/webdoc/pdf/med20.pdf

all you have to do is go to your family doctor and tell them the situation. they almost always will sign it for you.
