yeah, but seriously? beating a guy because he has blue lights on his car? he was calm and polite with the officers. for whatever reason, they had the chip on their shoulder and were rude and unprofessional.

there is absolutely no reason to resort to force in this video. all they had to do was write the citation, get him to sign it and move on. there was no reason to remove him from his car, impound it and take him to court, claiming that he assaulted them. without that dashboard camara, this poor man would of certainly been found guilty of assaulting a police officer.

Absolutely ridiculous, imo there are too many officers nowadays that get power hungry.

One more reason to stay out of PG county. Alas, I need to go back to UMCP Friday. Down here the county officers are cool, the state ones are a-holes but at least they're professional. Can't get out of a ticket but at least you don't get dragged out of the car.

When I was in school at UMCP I did some ricey stuff and had the blue LED windshield washer fluid nozzles. Got pulled over and was issued a citation by campus police. This was the year after the NCAA championchip and the following looting so I think they were on edge still.

X2. Plenty of good cops out there. These two must have been having a bad day and been on a short leash to let that one uncooperative driver lead them to their actions. Its a shame. IMO that driver did not help the situation at all, but there might have been some cultural/language barriers...

I don't understand why the cops would lie in their initial report? Don't they realize that there IS a dashboard cam and audio pickup on their cruiser? Maybe they figured that IAB or their supervisor would just rubber stamp the arrest, toss the guy into the system, and that no one would check the cameras or that someone could "lose" it later?

Wierd.

I guess they might have just been really nervous.

A good reason to avoid PG at all costs. Still, I never had problems when I lived there, as there was so much real crime going on the police didn't have time to stop me for speeding.

The guy was being completely uncooperative with the officers. I can't tell what happened first, since the guy was moving around a lot... maybe he did take a swing at them first. Hopefully they had more detail in the video they showed in court. Anyway, the only thing I can think of is that they should have pepper-sprayed the guy WAY sooner and gotten him on the ground. How many times did they ask him to get out of the car... then when they had to force him out, how many times did they ask him to get on the ground?

Maybe they took it too far, but the guy was asking for it.

i've been pulled over for blue tag lights like 3 times, each time was a warning cept the last one which was a citation. but i recently changed them to white LED's.
