Default MD state inspection. passing tint?

so i just recently got a used tc in VA from a dealership and i live in MD

i need to bring it to a place in MD to do a state inspection before i can register in MVA. Any one know a "some guy" can do a state inspection to go lenient on the Windows tints. i think mine looks like less then 30%

you'd be better off just taking it off getting it inspected.

since in MD, you only need to get the car inspected once (minus emissions) so you'd be better off taking it off and retinting later. the problem is that if shops get caught passing cars that shouldn't, they can get a huge fine. $25k to be exact.

TCnoob, he bought it outside of MD which is why he has to get it inspected.

My suggestion is that you find a shop to have it inspected. If they don't pass it because of the tint then you can remove it and take it back at no charge to have it passed. No extra money out of pocket for that and there is a chance that they will pass it. It also depends on how dark the tint is. 35% is the legal limit. But if they put a 35% film on the windows it is probably sitting closer to 28% because of the factory tint in the glass. Worth a shot imo.
