But what do you have in the works so far?
Location?

Time from-until?
Costs?
If you need it man, I'm available to help... you got my cell still right?

I must be partially banned or something haha! Wouldn't suprise me!
Bout to say, you, tired of posting? That's like saying I don't have 3 forums open now doing my thing... haha!
They need to un-ban my "Stu Gotti" account... my engine is getting dropped into the tC this weekend, so no more "BroketC" afterwards! I'll have to create another one again.. haha!
I love it!

Ok people - I live in NoVa and I am asking everyone I know what I should do.
My current place has been without air conditioning since, I dunno, sometime over the winter. So I have gone thru the heatwave without. After several failed attempts at getting it fixed, I've decided to move. I love my area - lots of young folk and it is very safe and quiet - so I am trying to stay here.
Prices are steep. My place is 480 usable square feet with a washer and dryer.
Place #1 is $100/mo less and identical to my place. The parking space is a bit tight, but not under a tree like my current one. It is also on the 2nd floor (mine is on ground level).
Place #2 is 640 square feet - so bigger - and $150/mo more than my current place. It is in the "nicer" building - also on the ground floor (which I prefer). This place also comes with underground garage parking - which is HUGE. This place would cost just about 1 full pay check per month.
So, what should I do? #1 and save some green, #2 and save the tC from birdshirt, or stick it out here and be happy I don't have to move knowing the HVAC guy is coming tomorrow (likely will still not have AC after that).

Sleep on it tonight, analyze your situation again tomorrow, then if you still don't have AC... like where your at and you've managed to make it this far... ride it out... or go with #1 because saving money is always better, epecially in today's economy...
#2 doesn't sound reasonable, only because you say that place will "cost just about 1 full pay check per month." Factor gas, utilities and other expenses... your probably cutting it close my friend...
Where do you live, apartments? Shouldn't the landlord or agency be responsible? Just curious how that's not applicable to your situation...
Gotti

The deal is, I found out the AC was out at the end of May so I called and had someone come out to look at it. They said it needs to be replaced. So I started calling my landlord and leaving messages with no response. After 6 days I sent a letter. And apparently the phone number I have on my lease is bad. So Sunday my landlord called and said her guy would come out to look at the AC. That was supposed to be Monday, then Tuesday again, and now tomorrow. The only thing that really got them moving on it was that I warned them they would get a call about the rental app I turned in today.
So, I decided that since no action has been taken, I would take the intiative and try to improve my situation and either move and save cash or move and have a nicer place with covered parking.
Sorry I'm so long-winded.
