Id simply go by cost benefit.

How much you owe on the car Plus how much you can get for the car, plus how much $$ you get if you part out.

If it works out to where u can get a new car then Id say do it, if youd have to take a huge loss then dont.

I did this when i had my matrix and things kept on going wrong and it worked out for the better. You will always be happy with a new car

Ok here is a question.

As some of you may or may not know, I am entertaining the thought of trading in my 2005 xB for a 2008 xB. My xB has 70K miles on it and a new OEM exhaust system.

The question is where should I go to trade mine in and buy a new one. and why.

and also should I leave my AEM CAI, TRD exhaust on there, or return them to stock. I am going to leave the tail lights and might leave in the Cold Cathode neons if if won't make a difference.

part out. you will get more money for the car is you part out, plus you can get some money back for the parts when you sell them

So I took my car to Carmax, just cause I was in the Laurel area, and I had talked to a guy there previously and really like him. He is an ex Best Buy installer (like me). I went out test drove a manual BSP 08 and had my car appraised.

I really like the 08, when I drove it, it had less roll, much better pick up and felt more sturdy. I even went back over the test track with mine to see the difference and even my gf could notice one.

They appraised it at 7K which is about what I was expecting for an 05 with 70k mi on it. the buyer commented, very high milage for model year, runs and shows well overall, nice options. I asked them what they would perfer, modified the the trd exhaust and aem intake or stock and they said stock.

Now I just have to really decide what I wanna do and get all my ducks in a row to do it.

Yea, we have people do that ____ here, at Tweeter, we just want to kick them square in the ghonads and strife. It's like yea, everything works great, but can you take the time to tear apart my car to make sure it continues to work great. But when the techs are flat rate (commission) and there is no money being made, it like, why should we do this, we won't make any money on it, so they just lift the hood, look at the belt and go yea its fine.
