Default Scion BBQ Sponsored by Thompson - Sunday, June 17th 2007

** UPDATE **

3rd Annual ScionLife Mid-Atlantic BBQ Sponsored by Thompson Toyota Scion www.thompsonscion.com and Central Atlantic Toyota.

Date: June 17, 2007
Time: 10:00AM
Location: Gunpowder State Park, Dogwood Shelter 2

Directions:
From I-95 take exit 67A for Route 43 east (White Marsh Boulevard). Follow 43 to route 40 east. Turn right at the first light onto Ebenezer Road and follow it for 4.5 miles. The park entrance will be on your left.

There will be 200 spaces for parking (thats alot more then last year). But parking will still be on a first come, first serve basis.

The shelter can hold 100 People.

Entry fee is required to get into this park (unlike last year). This is the parks fee, and has nothing to do with the cost of our BBQ. The cost will be $3.00 a person if living in the state of maryland, and $4.00 a person if living outside of Maryland.

To make this more clear:

-If you live in Maryland, you will be required to pay $3.00 a person at the entry gate.
-If you do NOT live in Maryland, you will be required to pay $4.00 a person at the entry gate.

There will be NO Alcohol or Pets allowed.

I am still working on a few things, and will keep you all updated.

Thanks,

Zach

- Original Post -
As some of the older members know, each year we do a Scion BBQ in Boyds, MD around July. Last year we had over 100 scions (stu you still owe me money for being right) and close to 200 people total.

Jenny was the main person who orginized it last year, and this year she has stepped down. Becuase of this, I will be taking it over this year. But I want to thank Jenny again for her time and effort in orginizing the BBQ last year. It was an extremely fun event.

For those of you that have never been to one of the BBQ's, or you couldn't make this past one, we had a DJ, plenty of food, and give aways thanks to the good people at CAT (central atlantic toyota, aka your local scion representatives). We have a good football game going, peoples cars displayed, raffles with very kool scion prizes, and just a big get together with scion owners!

I still plan on trying to get CAT involved with this years BBQ, so if thats the case, I plan on them helping us out with a DJ, Food, and Goodies. I will keep you all posted on that.

i agree with having it in June, and name tags would be a good idea.

name tags would be better IMO because you pretty much spend the day walking around and mingling with each other so it's much easier to take a glance at a tag on a shirt

answers updated.

and tags on the cars, as april said, could identify the car, but not the owner cause more then likely you wont be standing by your car all day

1 - Doesn't matter, but June seems most popular, so I'll go with June

2 - I think we've tried this before if I'm not mistaken, but I have no problem with it if no one else does.

Comments - I wanted to do this last time, but it never happened. If we get one of each of the RS series cars, can we do an RS-only shot (in order from RS 1 xA through RS 3 tC)? It'd be the first photo of that type taken, and we could get the drivers of the cars to sign it or something and auction it off for a charity.
