You know me Dave, of course I'm gonna sugest a racing event. Auto-X is somthing that is overlooked by lots of Scion owners, but once more owners are exposed to it then I'm willing to bet they would love it. Just like last weekend When I got Brandon from the noics to go to Langley with us (Larry, Char & I) he is now hooked. Never been before and never really cared to try, now he wants to hit as many up as possible. Once you get to drive the cra[p outta your car legally, it is addicting.

combine that with a show, and you have an awsome event. Maybe even include a Hybrid points system... Like how you do in the auto-x you get a certain amount of points, and combine it with how you do in the show with those points... and bam have a Hybrid winner. That would be interesting.

thanks for the input Justin. I agree with you, i think for our first event we are going to stick to something we KNOW will work and that is doing a show and a drive to our local movie theatre and giving out free movie tickets to anyone who enters the show. Since most people are requesting a Sunday, I will try my best ot make it on a Sunday. We would most likely have an open show with probably a DJ free food and drinks. probably a $10 entry fee im not sure yet. What are your guys opinions on having an open show as to a strictly Scion show and then entry fee?

My suggestion for a big turnout, would be to have it be a free show, more like a cruise in, and have "door prizes" donated by the dealership, Scion, Scion aftermarket vendors, local merchants...whatever you can get. People always like free stuff. Give one ticket out per Scion that shows up, and then let people purchase extra tickets if they want more chances to win. Donate the ticket money to some charity - of course the charity money only works if the prizes are good ones.

I would assume the reason for this event at Apple Valley is to draw attention to the recently built dealership, get people in there to check it out, and get your name out there as a decent Scion group. Trying to put on an autocross, or going on a "poker run" would draw everyone away from the dealership and sort of defeat the purpose.

Just my $.02 from helping organize a few big car shows in the past. Takes a lot of work on the organizers part to get a big turnout. Good luck, and since I am so close, I will try to make it regardless of what it ends up being.

Dan.

justin, i agree with you...but auto-x is fun for you newbies to the stuff
after awhile auto-x is BORING and roadcoursing is where its at, but anyways
the hybrid deal actually sounds cool/interesting, nice idea

but i agree with Turbo, do something that will get your name out and be inviting to those in the area or near by come check out a newly built dealer...u want this event to blow business up and put you all on the map, be known

im sure anything you come up with will be good and you can only get better for the next event you have in the future

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE auto-X and road-racing, but can't see doing either in my xB2. Just not what I purchased it for. To those of us that have done it before, organizing, running, and providing safety at one, can be a huge undertaking.

Now, if you let me run my Galant VR-4 in the auto-X, I'm all for it. Gotta love 300+hp, all wheel drive, and all wheel steering. :D

alright guys i met with my Scion rep today and discussed our idea and said go ahead and that they would back us. All i am waiting for now is an OK from our VP and i should have that by Monday. What it is looking like what is gonna happen is a car show at our dealership, we will also have a DJ, free food and drink, and some giveaways and possibly door prizes. Our tentative date is September 30th. Which is a Sunday which all of you requested it be. I know its the same day as Import Showdown. But it was the best date. It's before it gets too cold. Let me know what you guys think.
