A lot of shops should be able to do the safety inspection. I've been to a few different gas stations without problems, and I was pretty low on the TEIN coilovers.

I usually go to a shop down the road from me in Stafford. The inspector didn't care that the tail lights were tinted or had vinyl overlays blocking light output. He also didn't remove any wheels to check the brakes, but that's because he could see the brakes through the spokes of the wheels. He also checked under the car to check if I had a catalytic converter, which was removed when the Ptuning exhaust was installed. I do have a resonator/muffler welded in the same location of where the catalytic converter would have been. I guess it kinda looks like a cat, lol.

If he does have to remove any wheels, he uses a floor jack. If you're worried, I'd bring a couple pieces of wood, 2"x6" or 2"x8" should be good.

I'm hoping to be there. I finally got my car tuned using the GReddy Ultimate on 12psi with water/methanol injection. It's quite a noticeable gain. :D

Have you found a place to do the safety inspection? The places I usually go to are a couple gas stations near Potomac Mills and down here in Stafford. I try to avoid Fairfax outside of work, lol. Too many *****.

Default ...LIFTS can do damage....

You should pass. But, YES you should worry about anyone who lifts your car.
Today I got a 'free' estimate at Centreville's Goodyear and they did damage to my XB's side skirt. I informed them (at the desk) that I was lowered 1 inch, but that message did not reach the guy who just kicked the lift pad under my box. Once I saw the car lifted, I interrupted the service manager by pointing and saying "You came close to damaging my side skirt!" Once the car was lowered, the damage was more obvious. He said that I should bring it to his body shop. My man said that it was about $300 damage. SO..... Insist that the lift pad supports be used to avoid side skirt damage before handing over the keys. I'll post photos of the (slight) damage soon.
