CAI in MN - good or bad idea?

Nope. Lowering a car too much HURTS handling. That is the most common misconception in the enthusiast world. A slammed car has crap for handling.
All the angles in your suspension (Aka the suspension geometry) are set up for the way the car sits stock. If you lower too much, you throw that out of whack and can actually degrade handling. There is WAY more to it than the CG. The roll center moves as you lower, sometimes in the direction you are not expecting on a macpherson strut setup.
So yes, lowering can improve handling, but only if you dont lower too far (which is much less than most lower on the tC). So you cant make a blanket statement like that.
And if you are referring to the bottom of my post.. that would be my sig, which was making fun of an idiot that posted on here a long while back.

I still have the stock wheels on my car, because it was literally the last thing on my list of things to get. Things keep coming up, too.
As for the statement about whether or not a CAI makes any perceivable difference: I don't know if I can agree with that.
I had my turbo out for awhile and a buddy of mine with a tC sporting a CAI and 2.5" exhaust was driving me to get parts. The difference between my then-stock tC and his was really surprising. Not only was it just straight MEAN sounding, but it had quite a bit more pickup than I would've thought.
It's possible that the CAI won't do much on its own, but paired with a good cat-back you have a pretty killer combo.

all in all just stick with short ram, if it's a daily you wont notice the different from CAI and short ram i believe.. unless u want that cool look or something.. otherwise if you're running a turbo and a bunch of mods, then prob best to figure something better for a daily car lol
