Well, no matter what you do, I love the cherry blossom idea. I'm also a big fan of metal flake. I'm really curious and a little anxious to see how this turns out.

The parents (who just wont let go of the leash) just cought wind of my plans and stated that the new roof should be more important than the car... we'll see how that goes! They might not like my decission!

They never do... They don't like my anime obsession (spend to much money on it), the Scion (wanted me to get a Subaru wagon), the home (needed too much work) I own or the dog I bought (allergic). I ____ them off with every decision that I make!

Decisions/Decisions - House repair vs car mod?

Here's my two cents as a parent:

You are out on your own, you own a house, a car, and have a job! You are responsible enough to make your own decisions. You make them and live with the consequences.

Speaking as a homeowner for the past 13 years, I do agree that putting $$ into the home is a better choice than the car mod - sorry .

Speaking as an xB owner - Mods are cool! Now if only I had money left over from all my other committments.....

Compiling all of the ideas and thoughts that came up in this post, what paint jobs and themes I have seen on the Internet. I have now come up with an idea that I think will work nicely. That is if I can pull it off. I will keep a portion of the original Black Cherry Pearl, then add some Black, Pink and White (three tones with an accent color). There will be some graphics on the back three windows, hatch and front fenders. It is still in the design phase. I only have it in my mind, now I have to get it on paper. Then see if my guy can actually do it. If this is the rout that I take, I’ll post my final design (can’t tell you everything now). All that I can say is that it has never been done! Keep posting other ideas untill i final ize my design.

Thanks All!

way cool. just be forewarned: fiberglass is cool for body kits, horrible for daily driving. especially on the nose. plan to let the car sit for a couple of weeks after the paint is done, then put a clear bra on it before you drive any distance.

and if you do side skirts and a rear, be wary of speed bumps. most cars don't have anything under them to protect the side skirts, so the first big speed bump you go over will crack your side skirts.

in your design, you will do well to keep the body kit pieces a solid color. something easier to touch up if a repair is needed. put the graphics higher on the car.

sadly, i speak from painful experience. not trying to scare you -- just making sure you know what you're getting into.

kudos to you for doing this!

Damn you know a lot RacerZack!

I had the kit on last year for about three months and yes it was unpainted. It is fitted and looked great, but I hit a raccoon on the Hwy and it cracked a lot of the fiberglass on the front drivers’ side. It needs to be repaired before it goes back on.

I know from experience about the speed bumps, almost tore the rear off at the Mall of America parking ramp. That’s also how I shattered my multi-colored LED underbody kit!

I’ll have to post some sort of design on the forum, but I still have to tweak it a bit. The Black might end up changing to a burgundy or brownish red. I have to go through some color swatches. Sketching it out will help a lot with me decisions.

The graphics and images that are going to be on the car are of the Anime persuasion. A real cute one at that… Kawaii! I might have to coordinate a cosplay outfit for myself to match when I go to my cons.

Make a Ryu Hayabusa themed xB.

Obnoxious - Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine theme

You could go with the "Grayhound for Special People" idea...

Heh, check out the "Favorite xB Insult" thread for ideas!

I'm ordering a 1:16 scale xB model from a Hobbytown USA here in Brooklyn Park. Going to try the paint scheme out on the little box first. I'll post the picks and see what kind of reactions I get before I go and do it to the big box. I might have to buy 2 to help me run though the alternate/backup idea.
