Even still, XP takes up 512-756MB alone to run. And I hate to break it to you, buy your buddies just wasting his money. Windows can't recognize anything over 4GB of RAM, it just ignores everything else. XP has been known to run stable past 4GB, simply because it just doesn't see it, but Vista will see it and confuse the sh*t out of itself. Don't even waste your time with Vista, it's a horrible OS and it just trips over itself constantly. Stick with XP if you have to, or make the switch.

Are you sure about that with xp? I have xp running on a celeron with 512mb of memory and the bootup time is roughly 27 seconds.......

Whenever I was running XP, it reserved about 512mb of memory for XP. Also bootup time isn't directly effected by RAM, atleast intial bootup...desktop bootup is another story. Lol, windows.

Get a Mac and run bootcamp on it. It's been proven that Windows runs better being emulated on a Mac . But I will agree with you, I do miss having all that software support. I can't make copies of movies in under 15 minutes anymore . IF I do it, I have to use 2 different programs, but oh well, can't have everything.

Road Hazard Warranty is sooooo worth it. $105 tire replaced (no questions asked) for $-101.. yea, $4 plus road hazard warranty on the new tire which brought my total today to $17 (after taxes) at Pepboys.

Broken Motor Mount = FIXED!!

But here's the good part...while retrofitting my stock BPV, I found a lick of oil in the return outlet - not a lot, but enough to make me go "hmmm" (like the C&C Music Factory song, if anyone's old enough to remember that one) - so when I went down there, I had them give the ol' once over. They told me that whoever installed it *cough* *cough* Conicelli *cough* may not have installed it correctly. So they're gonna order me a new line and put it in there next week. $0 out of pocket...whoopties!
