someone hit my car last Friday night, Oct 27. He agreed to pay for it as long as i got him an estimate. i also took pictures of both vehicles and had him sign a statement that he would pay for all damages.

so, i got him the estimate yesterday and now he said he wanted to talk to his auto insurance first to see what his options are. i'll find out later today or tomorrow.


so i'm wondering...is there any sort of time limit to report this accident to my insurance company (State Farm) in PA? maybe i'm a fool and should've just called my insurance company and reported it already...?

i couldn't find anything online and if i can't get answers here, then next option is to call insurance company and find out.

i reported one three weeks later after the guy wouldnt pay.

Call today and you should be fine. Be sure to tell your insurance company you just want them to go after his insurance company. Make sure you're clear that you're not filing a claim on your policy.
