NEVER EVER WILL YOU EVER DO BUSINESS WITH FAULKNER TOYOTA PA
anyone ever go to Faulkner Toyota/Scion? ?
Dont ever ever ever never ever go there
i had the biggest problem with them.
around 73k my clutch blew
so i went there trying to fix it
they brought the car in and diagnosed it nd charged me half hour labor
then they told me 110% it was not the clutch that was the problem..
okay ?
then they told me it will cost me 1200 to just take apart the trannyand look at what's wrong.. and then i would have to pay for any repairs/parts/labor thereafter.
or i could just pay flat out 6k and replace the entire tranny
i went to a tranny specialist (family friend) and asked them to take a look at it. they went for a test drive nd told me 95% it was the clutch.
i had them replace the clutch and flywheel with a Stage 1 Clutch and 12lb flywheel from Competition Clutch (great product and great customer service) (also they have a distributor www.sctuned.com in philly those guys are amazing at customer service and pricing). After i got my car back and after 460 for labor which included replacing the clutch and flywheel, topping off with synthetic tranny (redline mt-90) and synthetic engine oil change and cold air intake filter cleaning, the car drove GREAT. I love the flywheel and the clutch is amazing. I paid 295 for flywheel and 361 for the clutch shipped ups next day air.
all in all. just dont do business with faulkner.
i just got off the phone with Scion Corporate hopefully the dealer will offer something to resolve this issue.

yeah i wish i could have but i was stuck in philly.
i wish i couldve brought it up north jersey where i got the car but that wasn't happening.
i drove the thing without a clutch from south jersey to philly and i did not have the money to spend on a tow truck lol i had about 1 grand to spend ahead of me and needed every dime so i can pay for all the crap

i bought my last car (mazda3) from faulkner mazda. it went in there EIGHT times in the two years i had it, starting 4 months after buying it.
I have a huge list of things that had to be fixed by them repeatedly. after owning the car for 6 months, all 4 engine mounts had to be replaced. they were replaced again 3 times. fuel injectors, solenoid valved, all kinds of brackets and a few other things. the way they handled it sucked. i couldnt take it to another dealership to get fixed because i needed a rental, couldnt take it anywhere else but the one i bought it from.
i was ready to lemon the car but it was totaled in an accident.

those guys are amazing
they helped me installl my exhaust, they gave me a free cold air intake, and when my brakes were squeaking they replaced all four rotors, and pads for me under warranty !
i cant believe faulkner sold yu a vehicle that had that many problems. unbelievable

I test drove a TC from faulkner but I ended up buying one from Harrisburg Toyota. I guess that turned out to be a good thing. I've only had it for two months but it was a pleasant buying experience. I would recommend.

heres my question though: you say your clutch blew at 73K (which is a lot of miles, i have one of the first thousand or so tcs on the east coast, and i only have 55K), and then they told you that 110% wasn't the clutch. How did u get the car there if the clutch was burned out and how did they drive it without the clutch?
Then how did the tranny specialist say it was 95% the clutch??? Its either 100% or its not. the clutch can't be 95% bad.
was it slipping or not? and if so, it wasn't "blown out". And if it was, i find it hard to believe that the dealership would't know that....thats like the only thing they are able to diagnose.
I had my tc lemon lawed because of clutch issues, and i won a settlement. I'd call 1800 my lemon and give them the details on your case. save all your paperwork, receipts, etc.. you could probably get some $$$ back. I did.

the only reasons i can see are:
1) its slipping
2) it doesn't feel like you think it should

the clutch was slipping at first for a few miles but i thought it was just cuz i havent changed my tranny fluid in 20,000 miles (i usually change it every 30,000) and i use redline synthetic tranny fluid which i highly recommend.
i dont know whats going on with that dealership, everyone nd anyone has told me that it is the clutch that was causing the problem, but the dealership is the only place that told me 110% it was not the clutch.
i even asked the tech that test drove my car if he had problems getting into gear and he answered right to my face that he did not have a problem.
b.s. !!! cuz i was standing right outside when he was trying to get my car out of the parking spot. i heard him grinding gears and i heard him turning the car on and off about 5-6 times.
i have never dealt with a dealer that had such poor customer service in my entire life. I know dealers are bad, but come on.. be realistic.
my mazda dealership was amazing
they gave me a free cold air intake with my car (aem)
and also did my exhaust for me
I had an issue with my brakes making noise (squeaks) and the dealer changed out all four rotors and pads UNDER WARRANTY.
what exactly is lemon law ? how does it work ? I never heard of it before.

I have one question..Is this dealer in Philly?. lets not get these dealers mixed up there is also a Faulkner Toyota in harrisburg and it wouldnt be fair to them if we trashed the wrong dealer. I bought my Scion XB from Hanover toyota with great results and also bought my new FJ cruiser from Bobby Rahal toyota with great results

if any of you are willing to take the hike over the river, i'd say go to Turnersville Toyota/Scion. Thats where I got my car from, and have had nothing but great experiences there. I went in one day to get wheel locks put on, they found nails in two of my tires and fixed them for me free of charge. They also replaced a garnish in the center console that wasnt sitting perfectly (ocd on my part) without even questioning me about it.
My sales guy, Steve was awesome too.

Update::
Called scion corp. they contacted the Human Resources manager at the dealership.
Greg Ifey (spelling?) contacted me as the HR manager, and basically left me a voicemail saying how his techs are right nd that its most likely not the clutch..
okay so i already replaced the clutch and it drives fine, and also nothing looks wrong in the tranny at all.
i call back in a very professional and mature tone saying that i feel like i was victimized by his dealer, and that his tech even lied to me saying that he could get into gear no problem.. i was outside heard him grind a few times and had to turn off get it in gear and start the engine to drive off.
no response from him.
so i contacted scion corp again (adam.. very nice guy) was very sympathetic and called greg again.
greg offered me a WHOLE $49.00 in dealer credit to reimburse me for the half hour labor in which they gave me a diagnosis.... yeh a diagnosis stating that i would have to pay 1200 dollars to drop the tranny nd take a look at it.
i've had a toyota technician of fifteen years take a look at my tranny, and he said it was the clutch. if it wasn't the master and slave cylinders, then it was the clutch.. guess what.. master and slave cylinders are FINE.
i am amazed at how poorly a dealer treats its customers..
